Everything Happens For A Reason
    #18831031 - 09/12/13 02:16 AM (10 years, 5 months ago)

If that's true, then what's the reason that everything happens for a reason?  :oogle:

Republican Values:

1) You can't get married to your spouse who is the same sex as you.
2) You can't have an abortion no matter how much you don't want a child.
3) You can't have a certain plant in your possession or you'll get locked up with a rapist and a murderer.

4) We need a smaller, less-intrusive government.

It's a way of looking at things you can't change. I mean it happened so there isn't much of a point in considering it could have been any other way.

Amirite?

Welcome back, was you on vacation or something?

:hi: :bunnyhug:

I think the reason that everything happens for a reason is pretty simple: it's an axiom of the universe's structure.

Everything does happen for a reason,
and that reason is there was a series of actions that you took
that led you to that exact moment where something happened to you.

Oh, quite simple, until you try to make any specific claims about such laws of nature

Everything is better than it was the last time.  I'm good.

If we could look into each others hearts, and understand the unique challenges each of us faces, I think we would treat each other much more gently, with more love, patience, tolerance, and care.

It takes a lot of courage to go out there and radiate your essence.

I know you scared, you should ask us if we scared too.  If you was there, and we just knew you cared too.

If what's true?

I think most things happen because of chance, although people seem capable of throwing some anthropomorphism into the mix.

When you get yourself and your mind right, opportunities start to present themselves. The universe has some kind of "fair play" built into it. It's very much a living, divine universe.

Please don't post any pictures of African children being eaten by vultures. I still have no explanation.

Eh I know it sounds ridiculous but the universe isn't at all what science thinks it is. At all.

Do you count "because it just does" as a reason?

If so, then everything happens for the same reason.

Science doesn't know what the 'universe' is. Anyway, I'm a fan of the karma concept. What comes around tends to go around but I'm not sure that correlates with fairness except that fairness and unfairness are built into the karmic cycle.

Didn't someone say "Life's not fair"?

There is some kind of fair play built in. If you get everything right, people will start showing up in your life that will be just the people you were looking for. Things like that.

I also think there is some objective good coursing through all of us. We are divine beings, we are essentially good. This universe is no mistake and it's not all for nothing. If we get ourselves 'right', goodness will pour into the world.

It appears to be life itself is a kind of intellectual problem or EVERYTHING is some kind of challenge to your brain power. If you start solving everything you don't like about life, instead of taking easier, 'dumber' routes, you will reap benefits. This seems to be how it works.

That's the main thing to understand, it's all a construct reactive to your thoughts, if your thoughts start to figure out what it is, it begins to do unexpected things, it seems to attempt to avoid you solving it entirely.

False, the elephant man had no choice, there was nothing to get right. Anymore than so many others. You're thinking in Disney world logic

Where does all this come from? I think you're just telling yourself this to feel more comfortable
