1st Grow 2nd Flush *Updated with pics*
    #18828766 - 09/11/13 05:00 PM (10 years, 4 months ago)

After modifying my FC and adding a light fixture directly above for my second flush, I have noticed a difference in the way my pins are growing.

EQ BRF Cake PF Tek

It appears that the pins are real skinny at the base and then fatten up quite a bit. What could be causing this? I fan probably 8-10 times a day and mist a lot to keep all of the moisture from being evaporated due to the light being directly on top of the FC shining through a hole in the lid. None of my cakes looked anywhere near as impressive on the first flush as this middle cake looks on the second flush. Is that normal?

That looks great. The fact that there are so many on the top of that middle cake indicates to me that the light is acting as a major pinning trigger.

Harvesting about a cake a day.

Here are some pics of the best pinset I had which was also the first cake I harvested.

Harvested

This was the 3rd cake. It all grew on one side and it fell over.

3 cakes worth in different stages of drying under a fan.

Added another cake this morning. This is the second flush so far with one cake still growing.

The lone ranger. Last cake growing while the other 4 are currently being dunked, preparing for hopefully a 3rd flush.

Some nice looking fruits you have there. This is the type of thing that I like to see! I will be growing some EQ myself too here pretty soon. Glad to see this type of results!

Nice job.

Nice!  What I do to prop my flourescent light up so it's not directly on the chamber is put 2 mason jars beneath it.  Give  it a try.

Just an update on the final weight of the second flush. Got 1oz dry. That's about 8g more than the first flush. I just harvested half of the cakes from the 3rd flush and tossed em out. The other half should be ready in the morning, then they will go too. I believe I tapped them for every nutrient they had. Thanks again for giving me the guidance to have a 100% successful first grow experience.
