6 PESA BRF Cakes. Some of the pins aren't looking so good and many of them are aborting.
Any idea why the caps looks like this?

PESA is another one of those strains that are notorious for aborts and mutant flushes, not ALL the time but this is especially true for people using multispore. If you are using multispore than that is why good sir. Also I could be wrong but it does not look like you have any holes in your terrarium, thus not obtaining enough fresh air which help mushrooms squirt up.

I believe it's overmisting based on Tmethyl's "How it should and shouldn't look" post.
But will they be able to recover if I lay off the misting?

Yes I'm using multispore for my first grow sadly =[ But my SGFC is up to code. I think I've been misting too much.

Thanks Nice ol Bud for that wonderful comment LOL not...
Anyway buddy, just because you are using Multispore doesnt mean your flushes will suck. Fan more and mist less, that could be a reason on why they looked so deformed, almost look like penis envy. You'll be fine, and dont worry, if this is your first grow it is way better than mine ever was. Get some agar and try cloning your best fruit. OHHH and be reaaaal careful, if I remember correctly PESA is pretty potent. Altogh you do have MS, PESA has been to impress even the most experienced people.

Hell no! No way I'm printing these shitty genetics. Even thought the crappy fruits are my fault, these PESA's took forever to colonize and start pinning. No thank you.
Getting some good ones off my Amazons though :

Hmmmm good info. Maybe PESA isn't such a bad strain.
Does PESA stand for Penis Envy South America, or something along those lines?
I've been trying to figure out what PESA stands for.

This is not a thread for strain specific debate. The problem does not derive from the name on the side of the syringe, but from the environment created by the cultivator. I have never cultivated a cake, so my advice is not the best. Hopefully someone with real experience fruiting Cubes on cakes can chime in.
I can say that from my experience, mutants happen. They are not isolated to this "brand name" or that. There is something that was done to cause the cakes to abort as the OP suggested is happening. Something does not look like the standard "mutant".
Sparchitect: if this is your first grow, expect the unexpected, and be surprised by success. You say your SGFC is "Up to code", but does that mean the correct amount of perilite in a tub with 1/4th inch holes every 2 inches in a grid?
Hopefully someone with real cake experience adds their expertise.

If I was part of the rating system, I would give you a 0/5 as did other users today. That was totally useless. I would wager a guess that you have been here before under a different alias. I am adding Nice Ol Bud to my ignore list as a precaution.

Yes, 4.75" of perlite with 1/4" holes on all 6 sides. http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/18785518

Good idea Whippy, he's obviously trolling.
Sparchitect - you can still print these and get good genetics out of them, that is the beauty of multispore! Also, is your tub raised off the surface with some blocks or jar lids?

First of all I DO HAVE EXPERIENCE, I started if using PF cakes LOL. I don't care what you say, PESA/ PESH and PE have always given a higher percentage of mutants than any other "name" or "strain" or whatever the hell you want to call it. Yes, any spore from any mushroom(cubensis) can give you mutants but imho and REAL TRIALS I have seen more mutants from PESA, and I have seen more than 50 cakes of this said strain. It looks like he needs more fanning, less misting. Also do you have a hydrometer in there? Temp?

Yes, it's a crappy digital though. But it's reading 79 F during the day and 77F at night, and always between 90-99% RH, but I can't trust a crappy accurite digital thermometer/hygrometer combo.

It is just so unbelievable how douschey people have become on this fucking forum, half of these people think they are god in the flesh You can tell no one here gets any pussy, that's why there here so often.
Anyway OP, look it looks like my information is all a waste and I'm an idiot that has never grown one of the easiest of mushrooms to cultivate.
PS fan more, miss less. Aim for a tiny mist over cakes, then fan...2x a day 8x if you don't jack off

Since you seem to be hostile....Please provide proof of your claim aside from "I have seen more mutants from PESA". There is nothing less scientific than an experience or a belief. Where do you derive your facts from so I may look over this document?

Qft. Welcome to my ignore list. Anyone who says that "X" name brand of Cubes will certainly abort more than another is a fool. Aborts happen because of environment, and changes in the environment.

I don't have a scientific proof, there is none, all I am saying is IN MY EXPERIENCE I have seen more results lead to mutants with PE and PESH. Maybe that is all just coincidental and I am not trying to argue, just stating what I know from observation. I will not argue race, species, strain because that is futile as you have previously mentioned there is no correlation between same "strains". MS is MS except with PE and PESA your results are more likely to be mutant, as in higher % of those traits being showed.

This thread is an embarrassment. Too much wasted blather.
Some breeds do have a tendency to mutate.
Over-misting can lead to a bacterial infection that can lead to caps that look somewhat like that.
Good luck OP,
