Think there could be ANYTHING active in an 11 month old LC?

Cleaning out my closet I found an 11 month old LC of Penis Envy. It was kept unrefridgerated, and I've heard they last roughly six months. I assume it's largely going to be inactive at this point, but there's a HUGE mass of white mycilia, generally healthy looking (but who can tell in an LC), and I was wondering if you guys think there could be any life in it? My plan is to take the whole thing and dump it outside into some manure or grass clippings and see if anything with grow. Since it's so old I don't see much point in sucking up some in syringes, but perhaps if I were to start from the entire mass you think I might get some healthy growth from it?

I've had LC's last for about a year in a fridge. I left it out for a week or so and saw mycelium growing again. Stuck it with a needle and inoculated a fresh mycelium jar. Worked fine and was was able to use it again.

Yeah, unrefridgerated in the closet. If you can grow from dried mushrooms perhaps you can grow from a mass of wet mycilia that ran out of nutes too? I'm going to dump it in some poo and find out.

Dig a hole or square about 1/2 in under the ground outside were the sun doesn't directly hit it mix and bury with the poo, water check up on it everyday I guess..
I think you can also put like a line of salt around were you buryied it so slugs don't come your way..(anyone correct me if I'm wrong)

Yeah, slugs have been a huge issue for me, literally speaking, these guys just feast on my mush. I went out there the other night with a flashlight and I felt like I walked onto the set of slither, I was actually shocked for a second. These fat monsters were just chilling around one of my patches and one looked like it was latched onto a shroomy that was popping up just sucking the life out of it. I don't like to kill things so I tossed him ~10 yards away, should take the bastard a week to get back . I should surround my patches with salt or something though, these guys are bad.

Yea then just do an inch wide of salt barrier about 6-12 inches away from were you buried.. Like a ring style Lol.

I would not advise that. It is HORRIBLE for the area, it seeps into the soil, and ruins anything. You may have a dead ring for years depending on rainfall etc.
Try a thick ring of pine needles.

I'm not sure if there's any pine needles around here. I think I might just go hunting at night and throw the guys across the street or something. There can't be but so many of them out there.
