covered the tray with the original plastic lid hoping its good enough for GE
and set it in my TiT
could wait any longer.
my other colonized jars are going to be used for G2G possibly will do that later this week.
=]
excited. only down this is im using sterilized coir that was sent to me from a vendor a while back when i ordered rye bags.
so i hope it does not get contaminated
fingers crossed.

If the coir is sterilized then it will probably get contaminated.

Maybe, maybe not. Coir bricks are pressed in machines with 100+ tons of pressure put on them. There usually basically sterile when you get them unless they've been treated with trich.

Yeah if it contams so what
It's worth a shot. The main thing is that you had fun doing it! That is all that really matters in this hobby because after all that's all it is for most of us.... A hobby

well it colonized and its 100 % but its not a thick layer on top. also the sub seems way to dry. i added water down the sides and it didnt seem to absorb any of it.
any suggestions on getting it back to field capacity.?

Add verm next time. Straight coir doesn't retain water well. You can try to dunk it, but I wouldn't pour water into the fruiting chamber.

like i said earlier it was just coir that i had in a bag pre sterilized from a sponsor
didnt want to add ver and increase the chance of trich or cobweb or anything else.
well we will see if it fruits or ill just toss it.
was just looking to see if anyone had any hydrating methods.
i guess i can try a dunk but ill see if it pins first.

LeopardMan gets insane flushes from letting his cakes dry and rehydrating afterwards, maybe you will have a similar experience.

i might just let the coir dry up until it pins then try a dunk.
