Outdoor Cubensis Grow w/Rye Grass
    #18824926 - 09/10/13 07:35 PM (10 years, 4 months ago)

So i took about 9 qts of old spawn which was way over colonized and nasty lookin. Spawned to two bricks of coco coir/verm and sprinkled tons of rye berries on top as to let em sprout into grass. I figured, the rye berries will sprout into grass and the roots will form a mycorrhizal relation with the cubensi myc, while at the same time providing a micro-climate.

May i add my area is very dry (90-100F) so i have had to supply the patch with water when it goes too dry. I keep all the surrounding area soaked as to imitate a tropical humid environment.

I snapped a couple pics ill try and get more frequent

You can see the mycorrhizal relation between the grass roots and the myc.

Ill try and update it as much as possible. i figure, as long as it doesnt go dry or get frozen or trampled, ill be all good and ill see fruits.

I'll be watching this, love those outdoor grows
Did you just sprinkle regular out of the bag rye on top?
Hard to tell from the pic whether they're colonized, or watered to field cap
or just plan rye on ground

I envy your location man, here it's so cold that my indoor grows starts stalling. :frown:

Ya it got a bunch of trich all over down deep in the grass, and no strong cube mycelium whatsoever i guess its gettin too cold. I just took rye out the bag, soaked in some water for like 5-10mins, and sprinkled into the soil and watered em. Ill try same thing in spring with good spawn and warmer weather.

And thanku, ya i love the area i live in with a passion. Google "State of Jefferson" its the shit were a bunch of local growers/farmers and traders up here livin off the land. And we got cyans :naughty:

NW Cal/SW OR border is the best place to grow outdoor cannabis in our country maybethe world. We get 10lb plants easy and of real good quality outdoor that people always mistake for indoor. Lots of $ to be made too. Working a Nine to Five? Ha. Ill just put 20 plants in the ground.
