Which way are the Shroomery gamers leaning in terms of the next system they will buy? I like the X Box online experience way more than playstation, however playstation 4 is $100 cheaper and includes stuff free that microsoft charges for.

Playstation 4 all the way. It has better exclusives ( apart from dead rising 3), it is cheaper, and so far I've preferred everything next gen I have seen from Sony much better than what I have seen from Microsoft (except the illumiroom which is awesome but it will be years before we see it anyway).

Xbox one will have the better CPU, better OS, better controller, better microphone communications, the kinect 2.0 which is probably a deal and cloud(a.i.) computing
ps4 will have the share button for video, the cheaper price, better equipped gpu to handle higher framerates.
If the xbox was 100 dollars cheaper I'd go with that IMO

You can get it for computer monitors with windows now, I don't see why you wouldn't just get a projector

They literally fucked that series so bad. Going form Gears 1 to Gears 2 is like downgrading from a porsche to a shitty fixed gear with one pedal.

I'm so mad that the Xbox one is not backwards compatible with 360 games so I'm not even getting it.

The illumiroom isn't the same thing as a plain projector because it's designed to go with the gaming system and complement it in different ways depending on what the user is doing, to do the same with a projector you'd need a high tech projector and you'd need to program it to interact with each game to get the same effect as the illumiroom.

The controller thing and operating system preferences are subjective and I don't use the mic. PS4 has cloud technology as well, and motion detection/camera tech that rivals the kinect. There's also the move, and the new functionalities with that plus the ps4 controller has a touch pad.
Oh also Sony just announced the PS4 will have a virtual reality headset (probably around the same time the illumiroom is available, I'd guess).

The illumiroom is nice and let me add the one for the computer is to cut down on eye strain, it gradually changes over time because your eyes don't adjust until after 15 minutes
I see that you know a lot about the ps4 though lol, I really don't think of that stuff I guess.
but from what I read the new Xbone controller has haptic feedback for rumbling, the sticks work better and it's a bit more ergonomic and ditches the flaws of the last one.
The sound is a lot clearer then blu tooth on the xbox and I heard windows 8 is pretty fast, faster then 7 so I'm assuming the smart glass for the xbone must be as well, they got the cpu up to 1.75 per core. Specs like that aren't universal though.
But as you said sony probably has a lot of money sunk into R&D
I won't buy anything until I'm finished with the stuff I got now, with a wii u and ps3 theres no time for next gen

Well I do work at a video game store so it's sort of my job to keep up on this stuff. But I'm hugely excited for next gen so even before I got the job I was anxiously awaiting the specs.
Another reason I'm favoring the PS4 is the blu ray capabilities.

Honestly If they didnt have heartbeat sensors and patents to detect branding I would still probably be buying an xbox, even with the DRM, but alas a lines been crossed.

Probably the most likely one for me to buy out of the current gen, maybe in a year or two. I like Nintendo's games and I don't really give a shit about console specs and all that.

Yeah, I'll probably get a ps4 next year, I still have to work in a PC upgrade and a new PC build. I am just happy that the new consoles are all x86 based so any ports to or from the pc will be nice and easy.
Better gaming all around, that's what important.
