Would you prefer to be stuck on a lvl 3 trip for all eternity, or not be able to ever alter your conciousness again?

I'd pick the tripping option for two reasons, 1) SOMEBODY has to do it to confirm how shitty it is after about a year.
2) I'd probably do something absurd and fatal along the line and end the test early anyway.

Yeah, visuals and time distortion aside, I couldn't imagine forever living in that state of mind rape, also I find it mentally and physically exhausting. In fact, on my comedowns I often imagine, "If I had to stay like this forever, I wouldn't be able to live." And then I get sad because I think of how it would be so unbearable that I would have to leave my loved ones (suicide), but deep down I always know that I'll make it back to reality, its more of a what IF.

Yep. My hypothesis is that eventually "tripping" would just become a "sober" state, albeit a less functional one. Similar to how after being stoned all the time it becomes easier to function (at least for myself). I wouldn't go so far as to say you could be as productive as a truly sober person, but eventually the elves and melting clocks would constitute a semblance of "normal".
Maybe one day we'll find out. For science.

I pretty much AM sober forever. Except when I'm tripping. Either one is fine, I really like the idea of tripping for all eternity though, that's like what God does for fun on her day off, hmm?

I'd trip forever as I'm sure most of us do every other day any way, breaks are healthy but so are lower doses~ but yeah if I didn't have to pay bills by playing with fire, or had some one elce doimg so I'd prolly be just licked till they dragged me off to the asylum like a drooling lunatic.

Low dose of certain cactus tripping might be nice, if it was very light on the mind, gave you extra energy, and have awesome euphoria. Truthfully though I would choose sober unless maybe I could keep a mood boost which would be nice.

But if you choose sober, your state of mind will reset to the most basic, unaltered one and never change again. That means, while you would be able to feel happiness etc, meditation and other practices are out of the question.

Weird
I think about how much I love everything I see and experience, in trips, and after trips even if last trip was 6-8 months ago
maybe because trips have reconnected me with nature and myself
trips bring me the same love as everyday reality
what I experience in level2 trips are as pleasant as sober reality usually, feel connected to the earth/nature and everybody during trip and after
but level3 can be too much mindfuck for sure, and level 4-5 I rarely go to (every few years)
think positive :-)
Houseplants, pets being happy, guitar, nature everyday , there are no bad days :-) Can't remember the last time I've had one... peace

There are trips that I couldn't handle for 2 hours. No way I could take another 60 years in fact that's a thought that frequently crosses my mind at high doses "I hope to god I snap out of this before the end of the night"
I would say though, I wouldn't mind tripping a hell of a lot more often. If I had the mental health and cash to I would be wake n baking deems daily or at least taking mushrooms/acid once a week

If it was a guaranteed positive trip and I learned how to manage everything I'm interested in then MAYBE trip forever.
At this point though, I'd probably go for sobriety because I want to be able to take on the tasks that make me feel worthwhile.

So i only like to trip a few times a year, but i could survive without, and even though it might be a bit dull, sobriety is realistic. i think that a permatrip would cause life to be too incomprehensible for comfort.

I could MAYBE handle a level 1 trip for the rest of my life (but even that would become a huge hassle after a given period of time), but no way for level 3. As much as I love tripping, you would literally be a useless person. The only job you could get would be a job that requires you to run around acting like an idiot and trying to send positive vibes to others (which is pretty much all I do on a level 3). Plus, you would have so much emotional fluctuation. I mean if one little thing gets on your mind and you start to get into a thought loop that you can't escape, you could bery well be stuck like that for more than a day. It would be total shit.

Tripping forever would suck.. You know how when you trip you make sure that you have no responsibilities and stuff, how can you do that for the rest of your life? You won't always be at a good setting, imagine going to a funeral, or being in a fight, or searching something in the dark while tripping. You won't be able to drive or do a lot of everyday activities. But on the other hand, I don't know if I could live in this world sober for the rest of my life. Both options suck, which one sucks more? probably tripping, but idk..

HAH ! that's fine by me. Meditation is cool but I sure wouldn't trade that opportunity in for a perma trip. Just think deeply about that bro. Have you ever had time dilation so bad that you truly and honestly forgot that you have taken drugs ? I have and it's freaky. If I was in a trip for say 7 days I would freak-teh-fuck-out. I honestly don't know if I could ever adjust to it. It would have to be an acid trip to. I couldn't handle a shroom or 2cb trip that long.

yea... I have been in playdough world.... the whole world was basically made out of playdough... and I wanted it to all end... would have been easier to jump off a building thats for sure....
pro's of tripping for eternity.... after one week.... you jump off the building.... finally breaking free from the prison... done and dusted....
ultimate reality is the same... all bullshit... but intensified to the point of maybe even waking up after 5 days.... before you jump.... your mind simply sais.... I AM OUT... and you are free.....
Pro's of being sober...... fear of jumping off the building are more apparent than the easy to make the decision tripping.....
being sober you can handle the manotinous routine of prison life a bit better... the mechanisms the parasites instilled in us from "birth" are all there... like a concrete invisible prison..... we will strive to "hold onto our prison system" until we die a "natural death" and have to come back and relive it again, and again, and again.... until we work out how to break free..... generally after thousands of lifetimes... or "lietimes" when we take the F out of Life... we are left with the reality of LIE.... I FEEL SO ALIE... HOWS YOUR LIE GOING.... YEA, FUCKIN AWESOME.... I FEEL REALLY ALIE.....
so what is the more pure state of consciousness? the one that distorts our "prison perception" the one that was bred into us like an architect draws up walls of a prison.... and the education and media networks build them into us.... and we become nothing of the true nature of what we are.... instead we are false concepts of something else, that is totally aLIEn to our true nature.....
Or is it the tripping mind.... that is able to step out of the architects drawings, his plans... and see them for what they really are?
Are we de lusional? or are we Ill usional? wouldn't becoming de lusional really mean... we are seeing through the Ill usion, and on our way to total dis illusionment?
Its a hard one... but I would have to say... that if I was stuck in tripper land... I would be able to find my way out of the trap a lot better....do crazy spontaneous shit.. that the game and architect wouldn't expect.... I would be like SAS... hunting for GOD, hunting for the keys out of this nasty little prison.... my whole existence would be based on FINDING THOSE KEYS..... WHO HAS MY FUCKING KEYS!!!
haha... anyway, the only way to become sober is to become what we are, or THAT you are..... becoming being.... all of that stuff....
I would have to say the Trip.... only way to get out of the game...... and break the routine..... and forever is a long time..... but eternity is perpetual..... it keeps on re occuring.....ANYWAY....

You can break free from the prison sober
Nature, meditation(even when walking),simple lifestyle(appreciate what you have),minimum hours, only think when needed, observe thoughts at all times - let those pass you don't want
The only time you suffer is when you identify as thoughts/emotions/desires
Turn off thoughts most of the time , only think when needed
Moderation is important though, else it is living by desires, that is a prison too but it's possible to do psychedelics once in a while this way I believe from experience (when you feel ready, then you don't have to worry about your consumption)
Meditate when you feel like it too, I don't meditate 2 hrs a day, only when I feel like it (if I have excessive thoughts/worrries or just by feel) - but usually nature takes care of them All worries / problems leave when I sit in nature
(walk in nature, houseplants, pets, gardening is equally great)

hmm interesting one ,do you mean from now on in your life or from birth ?
if you meant from now I guess Id choose sobriety , having taken and experienced pretty much everything (tripping related) aside from a print , although I have tried crystal 'cid ,
its only rarely i'll trip now though ,if its the right occasion
iv got bang into yoga meditation chi gong and thai chai chi which I love
I couldn't imagine goin through life though devoid of psychedelic experience though I must say ...

I guess it depends on what "not being able to ever alter your consciousness again?" means. If that means that its not possible to meditate either or to reach blissful states of being then i would go for the eternal trip for sure! After all,in a direct or indirect way we all live for the experiences that we can most easily achieve on mushrooms .

Like someone said before... low dose mescaline trip would enhance EVERYTHING. Shrooms or LSD though would suck.
