Is this tutorial sterile?

In this tutorial he suggests using storebought Oyster mushrooms. From my experience, using anything other than a sterilized spore print or syringe from a vendor usually leads to contams?

Right?

No this tutorial is not "sterile"  but methods such as this are known to work.  Oysters are very agressive and even in the presence of contams will often times overtake them.  The need for more sterile and advanced techniques become necessary more when the need for 100 percent success is needed.  Methods like this will work but if you want a fail safe procedure this probably isn't it.

the real issue is what good is a couple of pieces of colonized cardboard even if it does not get the green.  Not going to be clean enough expand and too small to fruit off of.

If you watch his other 2 videos in the series he shows that all that came from that was a giant box of trichoderma
