Freezing prepared WBS jars?..
    #18823577 - 09/10/13 01:57 PM (10 years, 4 months ago)

I read a post the other day that  talked about freezing jars of
wbs after soaking/cooking.
Ive never done this, but today I don't have time to PC them.

So would I be able to freeze them, then thaw to PC without any issues?

When will you be PCing them? I've left semi prepped, unPCed, jars of grain sit out at room temp for a couple days. After 3 days there was rampant green. I shook em up and PCd them for 120 mins at 15psi. Those jars went on to get knocked up and be spawned and fruited out in monos with no issue. Ideally I would try to avoid this.

I believe I read that sticking the jars in the fridge can be an option.

I'd be a little hesitant to freeze them though. Wouldn't the freezing and expanding moisture in the grains cause some damage to the cell walls and maybe burst some kernels?

Put them in the fridge. The moisture in the grains will expand and some will burst, leaving the starchy inside of grain exposed and inhibiting myc growth
