I had 3 PF jars that I couldn't put in a fruiting chamber anymore so, very unsterilely, I put them back in the jars after the first harvest.
Well, they became contaminated so I threw em in a hole in my yard after a heavy rain.
a month later, it rains 3 days in a week and during the whole week it's humid as fuck and 3 little mushrooms pop up. I picked one and it smelled like fresh cubes but instantly starting turning blue.
are these safe to eat even though they had contams??? There's not enough to trip but if more grow Id definitely want to trip if it's safe...

From everything I've been reading the short answer is yes. I've seen numerous posts telling people to bury their contaminated cakes, old cakes etc outside and hope for a flush.

Psilocybe mushrooms bluing is a result of the chemicals oxidizing (I believe) so I'd say you're safe.

Specifically the result of Psilocin oxidizing. This is why you lose potency from drying and heating. Fresh mushrooms are more potent because they still contain the active psilocin along with all of the psilocybin which is much heartier and survives the drying process. Psilocybin metabolites into psilocin in the body before working on the brain... So eating fresh mushrooms introduces more active psilocin per fruit and faster than eating them dry....that being said, they are also 9/10 water weight...so to eat the equivalent of a gram, dry...you have to eat TEN grams fresh. More chewing, but some say it's worth it. Drying is more for storage really.
