9/11 is tomorrow what do you remember about that day and why is it still so powerful?

Looking back it was one of the worst things that could have happened to this country and imo not because of the couple thousand people that died. Shit happens. But the government response to "Protect this country" is moving us into a police and surveillance state at the very least. Look at what the NSA is doing and homeland security. Obama and his NDAA and patriot act. The terrorists certainly won.
(This thread is bound to have a bit of conspiracy talk and should not be moved based on that alone. Stop being so fucking sensitive about it in the pub where other useless conversation is tolerated all day every day)

I think its hilarious that they managed to find the passport that belonged to one of the terrorists on the plane oh just in the street unscathed. Even though the planes blew up into a million pieces oh and upon blowing up with all that jet fuel that WAS SOOOOO HOT in managed to melt the beams in the buildings bringing them down to the ground.... But yeah a tiny passport made out of plastic and paper managed to survive the blast.....

ANywho...

Hundreds of thousands of tiny pieces of paper and plastic survived the blast.
I imagine the vast majority were looked at closely enough to tell when it was a passport. As they were trying to ID all the victims, a passport shaped object would have received plenty of scrutiny.

despite everything and all possibilties, it still makes me pretty sad to even think about.
but yeah its not unimaginable that papers went flying and eventually ended up on the ground, not everything was obliterated into non-existence

I didn't care much about it when it happened, and still don't really.. I mean it's sad so many people died, but I'm not going to get outraged about it like society says I should. Fucked up shit happens all the time, I don't get outraged by all of that either..
That said, I live pretty close to one of the largest refineries in the US (and is in the top 10 worldwide) and when it happened my wife (then fiancee) was freaking out about it, worried that we were living pretty close to what amounts to a giant bomb and a likely target of anyone looking to cripple the US. I was worried too, but wasn't really freaking out about it like she was.

Why should I climb aboard? This train was derailed before you had a single passenger. (Plus, the conductor is being a total bitch)

I don't know, but I imagine lots of paper and plastic did.
There's not much mass to paper and plastic, so much would remain.
Go outside. Throw a glass at a wall. Now throw a piece of paper from the same distance. Then report back.
We eagerly await your results.

Brilliant logic. Paper and plastic IN THE PLANE did not survive the blast that brought down a fucking skyscraper.
Now paper from the building and surrounding floor around the impact spot was tossed about sure.

No I'm saying this because you posted a conspiracy thread in the pub by obscuring it (very poorly) as something else.

Nobody I personally know died in the 9/11 attack and I wasn't there to witness it so naturally I have no more emotional involvement with the incident than any other situation I hear people have died in

I woke up to Howard Stern as my alarm and him talking about it; and turned on the TV to see the towers burning before school.
It is still so powerful because there are many unanswered questions: http://www.wanttoknow.info/officialsquestion911commissionreport.shtml
-------------------- Favorite entheogen experiences in descending order: 1)Combo of oral DMT + smoked Bufotenine 2)Amanita (urine drank twice) 3)Mushrooms > Achuma 16"+cid(still need higher dose Achuma)> Cid (still need high dose) 4)Morning Glory-HBWR (+cumin, cinnamon aldehyde adducts) > Methyl chavicol (need more activators) 5)Salvia (need to try quid)
All readable matter in the above post is ficticious... any similarities to real life are purely coincidental. Blessing.

I'm not going make an effort to say anything on topic because you're clearly going to force the mods to shut this down.
