Hygrophoropsis aurantiaca versus Omphalotus olearius
    #18821657 - 09/10/13 01:19 AM (10 years, 5 months ago)

Loc.: Slovenia

Could be on wood , but not visible to me.
photo

So aparently I found special specimen coz neither of h.s. or o.o should have hollow steam ?

Both specimens with excentered steam, couple of meters away I seen specimen with centered steam.

Omphalotus olearius should have gills extending far from cap to steam. Can't find any images on net that could confirm that ?

Attachig detail of one of my specimens, mybe this is extending gills down the steam: ?

EDIT: found something that could present so called extended gills:
extended gills ?

The man who made thisphoto: claims he can see "extended gills far down the stem" there. I can see anything like that (-:

Looks to me like the gills are exuding latex.

Nope, at first glance it does look like it. But look at close up (right top part of image).
It is fungal infection, I think.

Looking closer I prefer your explanation. They aren't exactly young fruits, I reckon.

And with that, Hygophoropsis aurantiaca is a good match. I guess the eccentric stems
are due to the two fruits growing very close.

Looking at local experts description, which says that Hygophoropsis aurantiaca has fine grained cap surface (no such thing at Omphalotus olearius) I'm  now almost sure it is it.

Hollow stem is stil mistery.

Hollow stems can be due to genetic anomaly, environmental conditions, even chewed through by a larva.

Again,
