cakes looking dead & spore prints

Hey shroomers, this is my first grow.

As you can see from the pictures there's one cake that is fruiting correctly, one that has has some fungi growing but 2 that seem dead. I have to admit that the cake with the full-grown shrooms looked exactly like the one left at the beginning since i had problems finding the right amount of FAE and humidity. I think that the most left one will recover soon and grow beautiful shrooms.
Since the second cake is fruiting it means that the fruiting conditions are ok, so whats wrong with the dead looking ones?? -Should I dunk the two cakes and hope they will recover? -Should I let them dry out? -Are they just dead?
Questions regarding the fruiting one: -should I spore print more than one cap, is there any advantage? -should I pick the other shrooms with the cap open, even if it seems to me that they may grow some more? -Do they even look good?
Sorry for asking so many questions at once, bear with me
Have a nice day,
BaronStrilly

For the best potency, you should pick the fruits just before the cap opens up. If you're printing, you'll want to pick when the cap is flat. You waited too long on most of those fruits. Take as many prints as you need. You can use extra prints to trade with other people or simply to have backup in case something goes wrong with your other print. I don't think you can ever have too many spores.

Is that a plastic liner under the perlite?

Mystery solved? Maybe they're not getting humidity they need because the bottom is clogged by the plastic? And are those PE6?

Thank you for your kind answers! I will spore print 2-3 caps and dry the others. As for the plastic liner, that's a silk blanket I've put on the bottom since perlite would fall out of the holes.
These are all Cubensis B+.
I think I will just dunk the unproductive cakes with the fruiting one, after picking the fruits off.

What's up with the tape adhering it to the sides of the tub? Looks like masking tape having been consumed by another organism. Or did it come that odd multi-color lol?

I think I see the problem here...you are using a SGFC but you have your perlite encased in a liner....this is incorrect. You must have holes on all 6 sides (that means the bottom too) because a SGFC mostly works by fresh air coming up from the bottom through the perlite. By using a liner like that you are preventing proper FAE. This liner tek you are doing is only for lining bulk substrate in a monotub. not perlite in a SGFG.

Perlite won't drizzle out of the bottom holes. It's not sand.

You can see a ruler on the image showing that the perlite is approx. 3-5mm big. The holes are 6mm (1/4in). The tissue is an old colored scarf that should allow air to flow through the perlite. The holes in the scarf are about half a mm. I will remove it after dunking the cakes, hoping perlite will not fall out and there'll be more FAE.

Perlite has a very irregular shape. It won't fall out. Trust me.

Just make smaller holes on the bottom if you are concerned.... use something like an awl, heat it with an alcohol lamp or what ever you have...a bic lighter works, then poke your holes. Heat between pokes to make it go faster.
