Phosi - if you raise those those trays off the perlite on something like this it could help increase your humidity and also help your FAE (assuming you've got holes on the bottom, right??). Metal trays on the perlite blocks evaporation.

I have no holes in the bottom of my tote. Because i move my tote around I don't want perlite to be scattered on my floor. That rack you showed will increase vertical space in my tote. what if my big mush didn't have enough grow space? My plan is to drill more holes lower down and bunch more on top and on the sides. There is obviously a humidity\fae issue.

Get some screen and put it on the bottom, you can even hot glue or silicone it on. If a mushy pushes towards the top, well, mush are soft, they can bend, no harm, no foul. Really all you need is some wiring even an inch off the perlite, I don't think that will really lower your overhead too much. You can even use a jar band for each corner, really just anything to get more surface area for the perlite.

On my next tray project i will definitely do this. Thanks

Heratogwea. And you were saying you hope your cakes do HALF as good as mine! Looks like they might even do better! Congrats to the fullest.

I've tried that. For me the spawning and colonizing (of the trays) was super easy. But I didnt get near a full flush or canopy. I think I had FAE and lighting issues. Took a break from it all after that. =\

Did you do trays or monotub? I'm leaning towards tub atm. Was your harvest worth the extra effort?

I did trays. Knowing more now, I'd probably do a monotub. Though even with the low yield of mine it was definitely worth it. I just realized I couldve done better in the end.
I think after this round of cakes Ill break up a couple, toss some coir in, and try to monotub it up.
Seems like its about that time.
