Some cool mediocre shots
    #18819820 - 09/09/13 05:35 PM (10 years, 5 months ago)

Just a few shots of mediocre quality... Light rain, overcast day. Started off with a friction fire hand drill because it seemed too convenient to find the drill, board and cutting tool all within five feet of eachother. A small dead balsam fir tree as a spindle and five feet away a split spruce tree with perfect boards and to my surprise a Broken bottle shoved right inside the splintered spruce!! This was screaming instant primitive friction fire... Second try I was able to produce a coal by carving a hole with the jagged bottle and collecting dust in the original hole thereby eliminating the need to carve a second notch. It did take a bit more energy to carve the notch with the broken bottle then it takes to use rocks I find. This little guy climbed up on my phone and took two terrible shots of this mushroom... What a clever fellow, I already deleted them though... He'd be fed to the sharks!!

Would anyone be able to tell me what the small yellow and orange club like fungi is?

He was two feet away and I coaxed the little guy into the frame.  Eventually he became comfortable with me and climbed on my hand and phone and took two shots of mediocre quality of the mushroom!!! I kid you not.

I wouldn't call your pictures mediocre, they are quite good!
Those first ones the club fungus are probably edible. Maybe this -----> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clavariadelphus_truncatus

You should probably wait for a TI to confirm it before you eat them, either that or use a key to figure out what species they are, I'm not positive if the entire genus is safe to eat or not.
