    #18819615 - 09/09/13 04:45 PM (10 years, 4 months ago)

Habitat: back of my house on some horse dung, been raining at lot lately too

Gills:
Color- I would have to say like a dark purple of some sort
Stem:
Thin and kinda long, also a brownish color
Cap:
Diameter is about a dime or nickel, is a light brown in the top of cap, gets whit towards the edges
Spore print color: dark blue or black
Bruising: can't really tell if it's brown or dark blue
Other information: pics
Not sure if I did it right but yeah

Maybe Panaeolus cyanescens, what state are you in?
Do they turn blue when you pick them?

South Texas, next to the border actually. And the stem turns a little browner and watery.

Can I still trip on them or are they poisonous?

No, and no.  Panaeolus Antillarum are not active.  You can eat them, if that is indeed what they are, but they're not anything spectacular.

Not active, edible but not suggested

Panaeolus cyanescens wouldn't likely be growing from horse dung and would be undeniably blue when picked

Can you post a picture of the bruising?
Has there been a noticeable color change since you picked them?

I will when I come back from another hunt, at this cow patch. And there was a noticeable color change. From light brown to a dark brown on the stem where bruised. The cap changes to the same color too when bruised. No bluing either. I'll be back in an hour or 2 with more, different ones hopefully.
