Habitat: Where does it grow?
Woodchips and a lot of horse dung
Cap color differs. All the same species though.
Caps look tan to greyish tan.
Spore print color: Black
Bruising: None
Other information: Scent of the mushroom, anything else you think is important, large close-up pictures showing stem, cap and gills.

Yeah good call, my panaeolus cinctulus was in the same bag as the psathyrella, are they poisonous or are my pan cincts now contaminated?

Just throw the psathyrellas out, if you've done a proper ID and know for sure that your cincts are cincts, they shouldn't be contaminated in any way, most psathyrella are non-toxic.

To make sure they are Cinctulus I will post more pics from my find today. Same exact park I went to last time I hit the mother load. Not as many as i thought but double check:)

Note of color change, when picked most of them were tan not dark grey tan like they are now that they are drying. They all had dark grey gills, they had the beautiful dark ring on the cap and now i just got to debug them. I fronted some the other day and never got my money because they 'didn't work' but I only gave him 4 grams for 20 bucks. Is that a rip off for this species cause they are that weak? I won't waist my time hunting them. Ill cultivate them. I have access to their mycelium back at the place.

What the heck! You found those in woodchips? Those are some really weird looking cinctulus if that's what they are. You should save a few so someone can scope them for you.

Different environments make for interesting shrooms I guess... Woodchips and manuare from horses. Deep in the earth from years of horses walking on the trails. see I got an okay habitat!

They definitely look like Panaeolus but I've yet to see cinctulus that look like them. Byrain would know better then me, hopefully he looks at this thread. Cool find either way.

You should make a spore print on a microscope slide and look at them. You can take photos through the eye piece, if nothing else comes of it at least it's good practice.

Here, I want to contribute more pictures to a very interesting habitat in which they were discovered thanks to branching out to fellow shroomerites I was directed with knowledge I held keen during my journey to finding a good legal habitat for finding Panaeolus Cinctulus.
http://
I really want to uncover the mystery of why people question why the habitat is weird, horse poopy and pan cincts are likely to be found by each other in horse pastures, but I didn't want to trespass so I bypassed the legal issues and strolled through a PUBLIC nature park frequently used for horses. Had to watch my every step to be sure not to land a foot in horse shtttt.

I'm just not used to seeing them grow near big ass chunks of wood, most people on here who think they've found cinctulus in wood-chips normally turns out to be some sort of Psathyrella. The horse poo thing makes much more sense, I wouldn't have noticed it was there if you didn't say anything about it. I 96.5467% sure they are cinctulus, the wood is what makes it uncomfortable for me.

Well, there is a funny story to this particular habitat, while I was gathering info on where to find them, I had someone on my thread tell me that he found his on woodchips too,
Not necessarily on the woodchips, but it cultivates mostly from below and I'm guessing gets it nutrients from the horse fecies, BUT I did spot mycelium on the woodchips I was flipping over to search for any hidden shrooms.

Next time I visit the park I go to I will check the huge field of grass they have I wonder if the horses ride through there ever, idk . luckily every time I have showed up there it's been vacant on the trails.
So it's a really peaceful experience! Many shrooms I find there look interesting to learn about even if they aren't active species.

Either send them to me, or wintersbefore. better lighting on the caps. Take prints and send off a few please, or scope them yourself.
