Two loph transplants, need advice

Today I got in 11 beautiful loph's and just finished potting them all up. The soil mix is what I have been using for all my cacti over the last year and a half, cactus soil mix sifted of larger material cut 50/50 with coir, and then 50/ again with perlite. It was wetted slightly then sterilized in the microwave for 15 minutes over a few cycles and allowed to cool. Most of the lophs are looking good but two have me a bit worried.

They two are wrinkled and slightly brownish, I thought that perhaps this is the starting stages of rot? They have been out of soil for around a month I have been told, any opinions, advice, etc?

My plans as of right now are to wait 14-16 days before giving them any water at this time, then a light watering or two before dormancy.

is the soil wet? if so then I'd suggest pulling them back out and checking... is it mushy? if it is I would bet it's rot beginning

These came to me today bare root, I sterilized my soil with a bit of water to create steam and then planted, the soil is a bit moist, but not wet.
The areas are not firm to the touch but they are also not completely mushy.

it could be caused by trauma during transport, I'd suggest pulling them out of the soil for a couple days and let them heal for a bit... they can last a while without soil or water so it's the safe option...

The one in the last pic looks especially concerning. They can go a very very long time without water so don't worry about that.

over fert and over water, they are suffering from root rot and/ or reverse osmosis.

The softness is from not having water. The brown scabs are nothing to worry about. In a few weeks all of them will be nice and firm.

cactus get hard and wrinkly from lack of water......
also I'd personally trust the guy with a loph in his avatar and over 6,000 posts.... seems like he has a good amount of knowledge about growing lophs

They have been unrooted for over a month, yet still they could be over watered? The root system was dry as a bone when opening them in the newspaper.

actually it's best to slowly acclimate them to moisture since they have been without for a long time... and the root could've cracked or the button tore during transport and hasn't healed yet, then the moisture and bacteria take care of the rest.... peyote can go 6+ months without water easily

I have a small collection going and at one point completely neglected my lophs and other cacti for about 5-6 months without any water, only light. They have recovered from that nicely and did not seem to bad off for the experience.

Yeah the conditions you describe don't sound conducive to rot, but the one plant looks sketchy from the picture. It is possible the discoloration is something harmless like one person was saying. Probably makes sense to play it safe ether way though, since forgoing water will not hurt the plant.

I am thinking perhaps leaving them be in the pot for 6 months without any water may be the best course of action at this time.
