Two days ago I saw Enter The Void, which I utmostly recommend to trippers anywhere as its super thought provoking.
What an awesome movie.
Baraka Flatliners The Neverending Story The Doors
Also highly recommended for trippers.
So guys, what more movies do you recommend for trippers? Preferably stuff that is thought provoking about altered states.

Maybe it could of just happened with any movie but watching Enter the Void while tripping was a bad move for me I'm still negatively impacted by it. It turned an otherwise normal/uplifting trip into something somber and very dark/depressing. I still find myself recalling certain scenes and getting depressed over them.. Thought provoking yes, but not all thoughts are good thoughts.
Cloud Atlas was a pretty good watch while tripping.. Tron Legacy is still my favorite movie to watch while tripping and I doubt anything will ever replace that.

I don't think I'd watch Enter The Void while tripping... It gets pretty dark at times, and it's just so weird and trippy I'd probably get really confused hahaha

Watched Heavy Metal blazed as shit and got a bit confused when the story line changes but now that I get it it's one of my favs.

I'd also recommend "A Scanner Darkly", if you enjoy the rotoscoping in Waking Life.
I find it to be entertaining in a different way, and it's got a pretty sick cast.

I saw the shining whilst on 2C-B and 2C-I. I sat there with my mouth gaping, yelling "It's perfect!" after every scene.
I never realized just how amazing that movie was until I saw it tripping.

*Adaptation
*Earthlings (I just watched this one on netflix, its eerie dark ambient surreal and reminiscent.)

I like the matrix more, The matrix 1 & 2
that is thought provoking, waking life was boring IMO - even though I lucid dream a lot and do reality checks a lot sometimes
fear & loathing in las vegas is pretty funny too if you have tripped :-)
but the matrix is a must see, and not just once, many times
free your mind from the invisible prison (the matrix) that is thoughts/desires/emotions :-)
all is one, reconnect with the source (love), find yourself(the missing piece, before you always felt like something missing) (know yourself) nothing is real, break free from your mind to see reality like you had forgotten it... a reality that encompasses all living being and nature in its beauty.. a spiritual reality no coincidences(god doesn't play dice), and the soul is equally great in every living creature
you have to let it all go, doubt, fear, disbelief ;-) - like when you lucid dream/trip (but also in daily life.... those things get us away from ourself... to see reality like it is you must let go of that)
it's filled with spiritual hints and a great movie at the same time IMO, one of the best movies ever
i.e. spiritual guides, there are a lot of those, they can only show you the door, but you have to walk through it I'm sure most people have met some of those, or read books by some of those they know you as good as yourself, and you might know them too sometimes spirituality is a long continuous path, that often starts when we realize we are not unique/learn from mistakes
take the red pill (5-7g cubensis, or 10strip lsd) , I can't imagine being able to go back it will make you rethink your whole life, and you will come out a new person, likely your forgotten self

Little Nemo.
I used to watch this as a young kid and loved it, and I watched it on mushrooms a year ago and I swear it was made for tripping. The soundtrack and animation of the whole movie is amazing, very fun movie.
And as mentioned before, Waking Life is a good one as well. Tough to follow all the way through for me, but very very interesting philosophical topics within it.
The new 'OZ the great and powerful' movie was pretty awesome on mushrooms as well. Mila Kunis really sucks as an actress in that movie, but overall it was a fun movie to watch while tripping. I don't think I would ever watch it sober though due to its lack of substance and decent acting. And if you ever watch it, don't worry, the screen is supposed to be like that for the first 20 minutes. It had me and my buddies super confused and thought the tv had the wrong settings or something.

No, the Matrix is about people in trenchcoats and sunglasses kicking the shit out of each other and making cool jump stunts. The setting with humans trapped in a constructed reality is an afterthought, and not spiritual at all IMO. I guess it would be a fun watch on psychedelics though, if we hadn't all seen it too many times already.
But hey, if a side detail in a stylish action flick made kids think about what makes reality reality, than that's better than nothing I suppose.

If you like hacking / exploring your mind with lucid dreaming/psychedelics / meditation , the matrix is the movie for you
Then you will know how to focus your attention too
After psychedelics I don't know if there is any better movie to watch
That movie is based on psychedelics...
Can't remember which one is the best of 1,2,3 , 1 and 2 are good iirc

I always repeat the same movies in these trip movie threads but why not, a hundredth time won't hurt anyone.
- Dark City - Tree of Life - Fear & Loathing - Coraline 3D - Paranorman 3D - The Nightmare Before Christmas - Belly
There's a few others I can't quite remember at the moment.
As for Enter the Void I saw it twice on heavy doses. While at times it is absolutely fucking spectacular and utterly mesmerizing while watching on a dose -- I also echo the sentiments from others in this thread that it can spiral your trip out of control if you're not in a strong state of mind.
Some of the scenes in that film are so dark and horrific, they're simply bound to stay with you for the duration of your trip.

Band of Outsiders is pretty good, as are More and La Vallee.

Through the Looking Glass
with Kate Beckinsale
I saw it for the first time on my first candyflip.

Also, I fell in love with Kate Beckinsale, which is odd for me because I am normally attracted to dark haired big breasted/assed women.

i loved the first 30 minutes of enter the void, i thought it was going to be one of the all time best movies during that starting portion. the rest of the movie is alright but ehh
i highly recommend " Timescapes " in 1440p. its in a similar vein to Baraka
Also a film called " Home " , again same as the above

DON'T watch ..
requiem for a dream
While faded....I can't imagine tripping on it. It would likely ensue a bad trip. A NO NO!
It killed my high lol but the movie is well scripted. It makes you feel VERY uncomfortable.

I agree with the first 30 minutes thing. The movie is just way too long to begin with, no way I could keep my interest that long.

I used to watch this as a young kid and loved it, and I watched it on mushrooms a year ago and I swear it was made for tripping. The soundtrack and animation of the whole movie is amazing, very fun movie.
I forgot about that movie until a few years ago but it's definitely a good one.

There was a short film made very recently called End Life. It had some trippy animations better than some TOOL videos. There was a scene where the person's "soul" was a tunnel of tits that reminded me of some of the corpse visuals i've

Yeah this. Why that dude decided that 3 hours and change would be a good idea is beyond me. It would have been perfect at an hour and a half. A quick dip in and dip out. Seriously literally half the film (maybe more) was spent traveling from scene to scene, hovering over Tokyo or going through drains and shit.

I would recommend two short film directors, who are probably overlooked, since it is seen more as art film and for a trip are amazing, Jordan belson and john whitney, Even without tripping some of the films are very good.
Enjoy.
