This question is against the rules Woodchuck. It would also be against the rules for her/him to post an answer to your question. There are rules at the top of this forum.

I agree, but I think they're going to find you either way.
Trust me, they will. Just don't do anything illegal and you should be fine.

You will be fine either way. I would worry a lot more about employers than the government. The government does not do anything to people who post mushroom stuff online. Employers are another matter....

The government only tries to do things to those that have been accused of doing illegal things online. Some people on here interpret finding certain mushrooms illegal, and report it to the law, when in fact finding them is not illegal at all.

Never heard of anyone calling the cops due to finding illegal mushrooms, but it could happen. That kind of thing is highly dependant on the site, certainly no one here is calling the cops when people post stuff in the hunting forum. Could happen on facebook, but I post tons of mushroom pics on facebook also and have never had a problem. There are even psilocybin mushroom groups on facebook, with lots of people posting pics of grows. No one is bitching about cops showing up, but you can never predict the future. Always best to not be the easiest to catch. A wise old chinese guy once told me that you do not have to be able to outrun a bear, you just have to be able to run faster than your friends.
It is probably much easier to catch the facebook people though, if the cops sent a subpoena about a user here it would cause quite a bit of alarm in the mod forum...
In any case there are tons of pics of me both here and on facebook and I do not worry about it.

That would be fantastic, although i recommend getting the pics quickly if possible. Golf courses usually keep the grass pretty well trimmed making it pretty much useless to protect mushrooms from the elements, not to mention that even tall grass won't offer any protection from the mower that I assume they bring through every few days. Although I guess the season is just starting, so more flushes will probably be occurring in the near future.

Well I found the mushrooms on patches that don't seem to get trimmed and also on the edges of the golf course, it's unbelievable how many there are, considering that 2 guys I know went and picked around a 1000 the night before I went there and there still were countless mushrooms. I went there at night by the way with a flashlight, cause there are too many people around during the day.
I would go take a few pictures tonight but it's raining so I think I'll wait for ideal weather

It is possible for people to learn to ID mushrooms outside of this forum though, lol.

Well it stopped raining so I went for a walk and took a few pictures with my phone since I don't have a camera at the moment. These pictures aren't very great but you can clearly see that these are semi's.
I will try to get a camera from my friend and go during daylight to get better pictures of the mushrooms and also the surroundings.

He's saying he has openly run a (presumably shroom-related) FaceBook group, sent shrooms through the post and never been warned/banned/caught.
