You clearly know nothing about what happens at burning man. Get a low income ticket next year and come see for yourself.
They only release 4,000 low income tickets. I have no desire to pay any amount of money to hangout with rich white people from California.
Then don't go. It's pretty simple. 68 000 people do, so they must be doing something right.

Burning Man is an experience. Its something you do as a life bench mark. Alone, in the desert, with a bunch of other people just vibing and surviving and being silly and tripping face.
Its just like Bonnaroo. Its an experience (if youre into it). Its bartering grilled cheese sandwiches for a hand-pump shower, or a stamp of acid for three bottles of water.
Overall its pleasant, minus the days of everyone going about without a shower.

Having the means to spend a few hundred dollars on something that happens once a year doesn't make you that rich really, at least by first world standards. If you saved a dollar a day you'd have more than $350 by the same time next year.

for being one of the most unhospitable places on earth, it's a pretty nice experience if you have a theme camp to lean on and help out. it's worth it alone just to see the same people in your camp that you haven't seen in a year. the burning of man may seem like a satanic ritual to you... but it's actually a chance for us to look at ourselves and figure out where we went wrong and where we need to really be before we burn the old self and become reborn with renewed desires and passions.

I thought about going, but I'm kind of a bummer. Will I hurt the entire festival with my presence? I think I would where a bath robe with a long brown wig and a coffee mug. I've always wanted a long brown hair. I'm unhealthy sure, but I like to party. Also I have no life experience except getting loaded and working as a laborer. Maybe I can help build tents and enjoy the great activities and great vibes and great people and get some memories out of the events held at the event.
These are all good questions to ask yourself before your first quest burn. Plus just to mention, after my last burn I was chard. Head to toe with sunburns. Extreme dehydration and eyes caked with sand from the rodeo. I hear they can provide help with those issues now with water. Just remember to be safe and enjoy the burn.

here's a serious question. why don't burners ride around normal society with the same led rope on their bikes as we do in brc?

The purpose of the led's is to make yourself visible in the black desert so you don't get run over by a bicycle or art car but normal society is well lit so they're not needed.

I just think it would be cool if burners left their lights on all year, or used those bikes all year. for all I know they could be considered a traffic distraction and liable for a ticket.

There's a guy I see around town with rope lighting on his bike to make it look like a chopper. He just rises in circles on the street. It's fucking awesome.

That's awesome, they are a for-profit company (of course) and of that they only make a few million in profit per year. They have to pay for land-use fees, fuel, artists’ grants, medical services, infrastructure, insurance, wages for a full-time staff of 37, along with eight part-time employees and several hundred seasonal workers.

My thoughts exactly. MrShroom's posts reek of jealousy.
