cows
so yesterday I was hunting. Found a great spot with cyans clustered in it. And cows were spread out in the flied. as soon as they saw me come into their area and start picking the cyans, they started walking towards me. They all lined up basically about 100ft away from me and started mooing really loud almost like they were getting territorial. Should I ignore this? not sure what's going on.

Cows aren't predators so there's very little chance they will hurt you, although; occasionally they will stampede and you should really watch out for that cause they're heavy fu**ers.
I've been in cow fields numerous of times, a lot of the time they will walk towards you, just watch out if they start too run.

Doing some botany work for the govment I had to go into many pastures.
I was chased down by more than one heard of cattle.
Scary shit.
Was chased by a llama too. That was also scary.

If you're going to the same field often enough they will begin to recognize you and accept your presence. They are very curious animals and likely just want to know what's up with you. Just act calm, normal and avoid staring them down/prolonged eye contact and sketchy movements.
Please remember to always be extremely careful around bulls and stay away from the calves at all costs...Keep your situational awareness sharp, noting trees and fence-lines just in case.

Cows probably thought you had food
They are motivated by... 1) food, 2) defense, 3) food, and 4) food
Unless they are going to charge you (drop and play opossum), dont worry
Bring some hay with you... Have friends for life
Peace

You will often find that cows are more scared of you than you are them.
The slightest fast movement will make them jump, its quite funny actually

Dropping and playing possum while cows are charging is a very dangerous idea

I wouldn't either, but if they are charging you a crazy dance would most likely scare them off. Quite risky though, but so is jumping barbed wire while they're running as fast as they can

Haha yeah, they are very wary animals, just don't go too close to them; when I go in cow fields I notice that they move around at a decent pace meaning you can hunt every last bit of the field (if you like) whilst the cows are over the other side. There is always gonna be space to hunt because cows like to stay together and they tend to leave like 60% of the field vacant (of course depending on size of field and the amount of cows)

Makes me wonder if it wouldn't be worth havin' a pocketfull of alfalfa cubes. Toss a few their way as a peace offering. They might freak that you're throwing something, they might mug you forevermore for more when you show, or it might make you cool people when you show, hard to tell.
And if you loaded up the alfalfa cubes WITH shrooms you'd be propagating them. Double whammy.
DISCLAIMER: If you get maimed or killed while doing this, it's not my fault.
I haven't spent much time around cattle, obviously. I would not recommend the above behavior for sheep, they will mow you over to get a mouthful of grain, 'bout the stupidest animals I've ever been around.

"The initial quake was a 6.6 but fairly shallow. I felt it as a prolonged up and down vibration followed by a jolt forward and then to the left, like square dancing."

I've never had a problem with cows. They always stand and stare you down which is unnerving but they've never made any real aggressive move. Same with the horses i've encountered and they were owned by gypsies so they wouldn't be tame at all id imagine.
On one patch in the mountains they wander the public paths and don't seem to give a shit about whos around them. They'll sit in the middle of the path and just watch you go around.
Don't let them put you off. Make sure you have a clear exit point in mind though to be safe. A tree or a fence that you know you can clear safely if in a hurry.
Bulls/ Calfs are to be avoided as totally unpredictable.
They'll think your the farmer but probably confused why your not throwing food at them.
