Need a good Pop-up blocker
    #1876261 - 09/03/03 12:01 AM (20 years, 7 months ago)

Does anyone know of any good pop-up blockers I can download for free? I've been getting way too many pop-up ads lately.

If you still use internet suxplorer, you can download the Google toolbar which has a pretty decent pop-up blocker.

But more importantly, check out like Mozilla Firebird - FB is a real internet-lovers browser & it has a built-in pop-up blocker and much much more  Very customizable too.

hope this helps

I've already got the Google toolbar. The Mozilla thing looks good, but I'd rather not get a new browser. Thanks anyway, tho.

Analog X is the program I use. It gets a high rating from users, mine has blocked 943 popups to date. You do have to tell it which windows you want to "pop out" but after that youll never see them again. This also insures you don't block out anything you need.

I use Opera as an internet browser, and it fixes the popup problem entirely. Also has tabs, and mouse-gestures, which I rather appreciate.

Try either ad-aware or spybot. Both do a nice job finding spyware although I like spybot a bit better.

why do you prefer spybot over adaware? I use both, but right now I am leaning more to adaware - perhaps I simply like the pretty interface over the ugly look of spybot  Seems more smooth and less buggy than spybot, too. Both seem quite adequate however.

Thanks. I've downloaded spybot and haven't had any problems since.

meaya popup ad filter works like a charm!
http://meaya.com/

ps. this one time, this priest's friend's great grandpa's chinchilla ate too much salsa before bed one night and had a dream in which she got zip a file from kazaa that contained meaya's ad filter and a working keygen for it.

And they all lived happily ever after!

amen

I use a program called adshield. It works very well and it's free. Just do a search on google.
