Organism Taxonomy Expanded * 2
    #18807430 - 09/06/13 01:13 PM (10 years, 4 months ago)

This post is merely a random thought.
I just realized that everything from inanimate items to thoughts and emotions can be classified, organized or accessioned taxonomically, or can they?
What does this mean? Is it due simply to taxonomy being a relatively complete and elaborate system thus enabling it to classify anything?
Is it connected to human mind habits or natural processes?
Can you think of anything which cannot be taxonomically organized?

More importantly, what comes before 'kingdom'?
How far forward and backward can we take this?
Have others made this connection or lack thereof?

Here is what I mean:
(I will skip phyllum, race, tribe to keep this simple)

Let's start with you.
You're a Homo sapien, but more specifically you're a sub species of H.sapiens called Homo sapien sapien, there is another sub species called Homo sapien idaltu, who are extinct.
Here is how you break down in taxonomy:

Kingdom: animalia
Class: mammalia
Order: primates
Family: hominidae
Genus: homo
Species: sapien
Subspecies or variant: sapien

Now the Fly agaric mushroom:

K: fungi
C: agaricomycetes
O: agaricales
F: amanitcae
G: amanita
S: muscaria(red)
Ss/V: perscina(pinkish) flavivolvata, guesowii, formosa (orangish yelllow)

With A.muscaria the geographic region and color are the only things determining the variation/sub.

Now, observe.

Kingdom: inanimate object
Class: man-crafted items
Order: art/entertainment/pleasure item
Family: musical instruments - stringed
Genus: guitar
Species: electric,  acoustic, bass, steel
Subspecies: 7string electric ibanez
Variant: red 7string electric ibanez, green 7string electric ibanez, rainbow speckled 7string electric ibanez

And so on

K: matterless
O: human mind
F: bio-chemical/electric processes
G: emotions/feelings
S: happiness
Ss: bliss, euphoria, contentment

These are just examples of the concept.
Just food for thought. Things like "man-crafted item" could all be given random names like 'mancraftii'

That concludes my random thought.
