Is this an edible yellow cracked bolete. Should we eat this? Was found near birch trees.

suillus or Leccinum species. The scabers tell me its most likely in the Sullius Genus. Did it bruise? what color.

Are you in the Pacific Northwest? The red tones in xerocomus Subtomentosus throw me off and tell me we are looking at something different maybe.

Lol, Scotland that's a slightly different ballpark then here. I'm lost on this one. Boletus' are hard for me to ID especially if I don't have it in hand.
