Big Laughing Gymn ?
    #18800936 - 09/04/13 08:46 PM (10 years, 5 months ago)

When I first found these I thought junious

but after a little research I have some doubt,

Pholiota is so damn similar.

These were growing from a living Salix " Willow "

In a beaver swamp.

No spore print, I was not hiking alone.

IMHO it's a Pholiota sp. also.

I don't think that Gymnopilus will ever have a slimy surface when wet unless they are completely rotten.
The print of Gymnopilus should be bright orange and thick, the print of Pholiota should be way more brown and wont deposit such a thick amount of spores.
