Anyone have this problem?
    #18804920 - 09/05/13 08:09 PM (10 years, 4 months ago)

When I used to be in fear I would constantly do deep breathing. I think I was way too forceful with myself because I was too scared. I had this problem where I would forget how to breathe reguluary and would be stuck forcing myself to do deep breathing. This lasted for 2 years. I read online and there are a bunch of people with the same problem. I was worried that I forgot how to breathe and so the energy problem continued. It really took some time to get out of the panic and tell myself to just stop breathing in general. I figured if i stopped breathing then it would automatically come back in control. Dont forcably hold your breathe but just stop doing it if you have this problem too. just watch the fears pass by. I doubt anyone else has this problem. Literally would spend hours stuck deep breathing every day. It sucked. I finally got over it from just watching my fears and waiting it through. My nervous system would constantly fear you need to deep breathe you need to deep breathe. Anyone else have this problem also?

There's tons of things that can go wrong in these big brains.

you need to get out of your mind and into your body. sometimes meditation isn't enough...or we think we are meditating when really we are paralyzed in a negative thought loop.

i've come to realize that ALOT if not all of our tensions in life manifest as PHYSICAL stagnation. a body/mind that is paralyzed and cannot move is in a state of fear...a body/mind that is free to flow as it will is in a state of peace.

do whatever you have to do to MOVE the physical stagnation in your body...jumping jacks, jog in place, go for a walk, do sprints, have sex, punch the air...whatever it takes to get your energy moving freely through your body. sometimes the only way to overcome the mind is to ground yourself totally in the physical....

Exactly. Especially when guilt locks you in a thought loop saying you can't think you can't think. It makes me want to throw up. Take a walk, do something enjoyable, get some clarity on the situation before hours of making yourself suffer and wasting so much time.

yea i relate to that completely. and like i said, the thing that has helped me alot personally is just getting the body moving...getting into a state of flow.

i've realized that my own panic attacks / guilt trips / anxieties whatever you want to call them are almost always the consequence of getting lost in negative thought loops (usually when i'm physically stagant, or body paralyzed if you will). worst part is i often *recognize* i'm in a thought loop but can't get out...that's where the moving the body thing is so crucial. cuz when you let the body flow, the mind automatically ceases it's head games.

in other words, when your body is *actively* involved in life you directly experience the flow of life, as is. through my own experience, deep breathing and meditation can only go so far alone...that's where getting active comes into play. (meditation/deep breathing are passive activities and need to be balanced out by more active, physical activities or you will become overly passive in your everyday life!)

when the body is active your breathing flows naturally, no need to think about it. and when the body and breathe are flowing naturally, so does life. hope this makes sense.
