 Boiling to sterilize

Whats the recommended method, size of jars,and medium for best results. Im a little low on funds but I got enough to kickstart a grow. I know its not the best method but its all I can do, for now.

I know, Im wondering if theres a specific size of jar that would work better, or a medium thats more readily sterilized at boiling temps, and how long should I boil them for?

pint jars are the standard any bigger and you risk stalling or contaminations.
brown rice flower and vermiculite is the best standard substrate.
boil for 90 minutes? I think? I do grain not PF tek
Pf tek can be low cost and very kind to less experienced growers and you can still yeild a decent amount.

The tek IS the specifics. You said yourself you can't afford anything big. Wide mouth half pint jars are perfect. Larger jars tend to stall out. Boil them for 90 minutes to 2 hours.

That's because you never mentioned if you were wanting do to PF style jars or whole grains. The answer to your questions depend on that.

You can steam sterilize grains for 8 hours....
So doing grains is possible without a PC...
