Going through something similar. I've found smoking has that paranoid feeling tagged along when i have a tolerance to bud. When i wait a week, weeks, or preferably a month now...burning is amazing. I've found this to be true time and time again for me.
A week ago i started getting that burnt out feeling quite often...no dreams (because bud supresses your rem sleep) every night and quit for 4 days...the first three days i have ok sleep and 4th day had the rem return, great dreams...felt sooo good, then smoked and it was all magical again ahah. This again is all IME though and everyone is soooo different it's really crazy and so hard to pinpoint the issue for people most of the time...could be anything

i havent smoked for a month or so now, but i stopped because i was smoking about 3-5 times a week for a year or so, i stopped because it was making me paranoid, but thats because ive been caught a few times and i always had that lingering over me, but then there is also the anxiety and paranoia i would get when i wasnt smoking which was the worst.

Ah that's too bad. Well, I'm still smokin'. Just had an awesome time with some friends at a wildlife refuge, such a beautiful place. We listened to Pink Floyd and about how amazing/horrible life can be, and how we are glad that we are all still good friends.
Don't do drugs.

Yeah I use to smoke about daily, about 2 years ago. But after I started using synthetic marijuana and had a few bad reactions to it, when I smoke weed now, The high feels different. I just feel really antisocial, awkward and withdrawn and get really panicky around people, even my best friends. I figure mine is because of the way that synthetic effects your cannabinoid receptors, and also just a mental association between the two or something weird. But I still will smoke, but it feels more backwards, like the whole high I'm waiting to feel social and happy like I do before I smoked, so after it starts to were off I feel good, but normally that bad feeling(you could call it paranoia) won't carry on past the high, I just feel good after words. But as other users have said before, it really just depends on the person. I would not worry about it, I think weed highs get messed up from other drug use. Mine was from synthetic, I've had friends who say their highs are way different then they use to be from using other drugs more often like acid, not in a bad way; but just different. I think its normal for the high to change as you change, but thats just what I think, take it with a grain of salt.
Happy toking friend!

I was always fine. I quit for three years because it affected my sport prestations. After the three year break I smoked again and always got really paranoid. Needless to say, I quit again.

I've been smoking weed since September 1977 when I was 13. 36 years ago Aside from some dry spells and abstaining for drug tests, I've been consuming non stop.
If I run out for a week or more and then get a new stash, I'll usually celebrate by smoking up a good amount. That gets me paranoid. It's the loss of tolerance and then a strong dose that does it. If I'm just consuming it like normal I never get paranoid. I tried that Spice/K2 crap a couple years ago and it made me extremely paranoid to the point where I never want to do it again.

Harrishroom said: Hello all, while reading threads on here I notice a lot of people say they used to smoke cannabis a lot, but don't anymore. And on top of that, they usually say the reason is because it was making them paranoid.. I'm new to smoking (a couple months, a few times a week), I never get bad paranoia, just a bit more cautious about mundane things. So has anyone noticed that the more often and longer they've been smoking, the negative side affects get worse..? Idk maybe I'm crazy, it just seems like a lot of people stop after a long time because of the infamous paranoia. Does this paranoia start to transfer into the sober life? I'm not having a problem, the thought just crossed my mind and interested me. Thanks for any input.
No.
I find that the more frequently I use weed the more paranoid/anxious I get, I think it's because it builds up in my system. and yes I do find that this carries on into sober life. However by spacing out my smoking I don't get it [the 'noia] and when I do it doesn't really bother me because I know what it is and I know it'll go away really soon.
The problem with being high a lot is you kind of forget that it's possible to not feeling paranoid/anxious and that's when it really stats to become a problem.
Edit: Plus if become dependent on weed to have a good time, you'll be subject to the unwanted effects all the time. Either your stoned and have the 'noia, or you're sober and feel bored and shit.
If you smoke sparsely and make an effort to enjoy sobriety than you can chose between the pleasurable effects of sobriety and the pleasurable effects of being stoned each with their own downsides.

My paranoid delusions just change. Nonsmoking I think there is some illuminati group or groups trying to take over the world. Stoned I think that cop knew I was high. With constant smoking all anxiety and paranoia give way to"fuck it guess we will see"

If you get EXTREME paranoia you're probably on your way into mental illness and should never smoke again. I think a little bit of paranoia that is amusing is okay.
You'll fuck everything up for yourself with mental illness. It's so boring. If it's not boring, it's the kind of horrible debilitating fear that a piss-ant homosexual Asperger's kid would have with a gun held to its head.
If you have a bad time on drugs repeatedly isn't it the worst fucking idea ever to just try again? It's your brain. Unless you're insane already and don't care about living and dying, it's akin to slashing your wrists or something.
