What if we were all god?
    #18791512 - 09/02/13 07:14 PM (10 years, 5 months ago)

What if every one of us humans are god? What if our soul is a fragment of god? That chose to split itself up? What if we all are god? What if our fears kept us hidden from the actual truth?

Life is an expression of countless endless words that are true for you and the universe and all the time it will come to your mind life and spirit of humanity and your life you are truly grateful to be alive you are the great one of this universe you are wise and truly endless in your nature...

If we're all God, wouldn't that dilute the meaning of the term 'God'?  After all, I don't seem to have infinite knowledge, benevolence or power.

Here's a short story i wrote about what your asking, this story was inspired by direct experiences I have had in multiple altered states.

God creating physical reality is analogous to a mind wanting to create a body to experience rather than just know.
God at first was only equivalent to a mind (infinite raw energy which somehow clumped up enough to gain conscious thought. Once this conscious mind came to be, the first thing it realized was that It was all things, hence when looked at differently it was nothing, alone, there was nothing but its own consciousness, one consciousness (a way to imagine this is imagine if you had lost all your senses but still had your mind, you would be in your own little isolated universe).

So eventually this one consciousness realized that it was not content with this and needed to expand. It needed to procreate in at a consciousness scale. It needed not to feel alone, it needed purpose (as any ego does) it realised it could create any story or dream within its mind as there was no outside its mind.
So it decided so that it would split itself into an almost infinite amount of pieces with all pieces having the same god type consciousness, not dissimilar to how a hologram works. In a hologram, each piece has the whole contained with it.

It also realized that each piece couldn’t have any memory it where it came from or how it made the decision to come into this new form. It would also instil an innate thirst for knowledge, to learn everything would be its driving force; curiosity would be life’s motivator. Perhaps the bible may be referring to this when it speaks symbolically of the story of Adam and Eve and the tree of knowledge they ate the fruit they would have to leave the garden and be mortal, leaving the garden is akin the state of the one conscious mind splitting to us with no memory of it and then with a thrust for knowledge to eventually remember what it really is.

Now going back to the mind/body reference, it would seek out to create and extension of itself that could be expressive. Akin to a mind creating a nervous sensory system where it could experience, just like our bodies are the vessel for our minds to experience a physical reality, without the senses there can be no physical experience at all. The universe is God’s vessel to experience.

If we take a look at a fractal, we see a never ending cycle of creation, a factual is simply a symbolic representation of what the infinite flow of energy (creation) emanating from this one consciousness looks like.

Thank you for taking the time read

Our soul is the most holy gift we have and our bodies we should appreciate :-) (the soul is perfect)

something said that to me a while ago (some time ago), during a trip

and also
Our bodies are a reflection of our state of thought (a mirror of our souls state)

Alan Watts put it best, in my opinion.  If you make the statement "We are all God" in our Western context where God is imagined to be a separate, "supernatural" being lording over us, then you look like a lunatic because you obviously don't possess the ridiculous qualities of an over-manipulative and jealous male deity.

However, a more Pantheistic (or Hindu) view of God makes the "We are all God" statement make much more sense in my opinion, as long as you don't exclude the rest of matter as also being God, too.

My two cents...some people are quick to judge rather than thinking these things out, which I kinda figured this section was for.

Well, I am Hindu, so I feel I must address the Hindu view point. This can be quite tricky, though, as there is no one view point in Hinduism (more properly known as Sanatana Dharma). It can be said that there are two schools of thought in Hinduism: Dvaita & Advaita. Dvaita is the belief there are many Gods that are distinct beings. This is the way the western world often sees Sanatana Dharma, but this is the minority view for the people who actually practice the tradition. Advaita is the view of non-separateness. This is summed up in the Vedic mantra "TAT TVAM ASI" (You Are That). I suggest to any interested to study the works of Shri Adi Shankara & the many modern schools of Vedanta. Here is a good place to start: http://www.arshabodha.org/

We're all the same, and god is in us, god is love

Spirituality, intuition, creativity, wisdom etc. is a natural part of us , must just forget it

Remove thoughts, then there is only bliss, and everything comes as needed

And you will likely notice god in everything, the soul is equally great in every living creature :-)

The miracles/bliss of nature are hard to put words on too

I often see/meet different people say 'live in the moment without worries'/talk about peace, acceptance is important, we are not our thoughts, and something about nature too, it doesn't surprise me anymore :-)
that knowledge is from the source  , or from learning from mistakes
and I realize they are the same inside as I am, we're not unique

Once you have tried reconnecting with the source just once you can never go back to your old self, and neither would you want to
Nature reconnects me / meditation in nature / doing what I love / appreciating everything

There are no coincidences :-)

 very nice, the whole "we are all god" statement definitely carries a different meaning based on the culture you live in. just goes to show how words and concepts are almost totally subjective based on worldview.

and "alan watts puts it best" in ALOT of philosophical topics, not just this one! that dude might be my favorite philosopher ever because his theories are so balanced and most importantly GROUNDED. everything he says has this practicality to it, despite the ideas being generally quite deep in nature.

yea, i love that dude lol.

I think godliness is within all of us, and attainable for most.

You make a good point, fear makes people irrational imo.

I think along similar lines, we are all that little piece of god and individually/personally we are split up from the whole, and only when we can look from beyond ourselves can we see the wholeness.

Thinking like this also alows for consideration of other perspectives, by not keeping a fixed one as you.

Good post.
