We've been having a fair few showers with warm days...mushrooms a plenty!
My friends will be happy with my liberty cap findings. (Life is surreal enough for me personally ;-) Some were huge a white, very long stalks, others were younger, wet, brownish.
I've never had honey fungus...what's the general opinion on edibility?

Personally, I like the young caps; the older they get the less I like them. Also the stems are far to fibrous for me. I don't even bother cooking them these days.
Some folks I guess get indigestion from Honey Mushrooms. So take it slow at first.

Yes - i'd heard some do get a funny stomach with the honey's. I might try some young, without stalks as suggested.
These haven't shown in this spot for 2 years so i'm happy to see them again. One year they were everywhere in this little copse i found them in - it was an amazing sight. :-)

Hasn't rained for a while by me yet but fingers crossed for the next few days as rain is forecasted, the temperatures look just right for libs to start fruiting also, may have a little hunt Sunday/Monday and see if I can find any.
Nice finds by the way, how many did you find altogether?

These are the first in the season for Ireland, so found only 80-100 so far. They grow here where the wild deer roam in the fields with rushes. I follow the deer tracks and found them all the way around the fields right close to me. Didn't expect to find any - was looking for bigger edibles and spotted these and kept looking :-)
I loved lib hunting in the UK - Wales, sheep and rushes were prime spots!

There aren't any places nearby to me that have many wild animals that graze, I have to go on fields with cows that are owned by farmers I occasionally come across horses on fields but they're mostly owned too.
Congrats on finding that many libs so early in the season as well
