Pics are from my phone so I'm no sure how they look. Took a few pics with different lighting. This is multispore from syringe on agar. Not sure if it looks to cottony or what. Any insight appreciated

It's a bit cottony, but I see some rhizomorphic parts, cut those and transfer to another dish

Do you think I could wait until Tommorow? Any suggestions on where o'clock the best sections Are. I'm still not sure if I understand that part. Furthest out? Most dense?

About 8 o'clock on second picture. You want that nice, ropey mycelium as far away from the middle as possible.

Thanks! Is it kosher to make lids for no pour agar jars using poly? I'm out of tyvek. I could get more but have a ton of poly. Was wondering if the poly is too porous and there is too much g.e. when working with agar?

I don't think you even need holes if you aren't going to be keeping the culture for extended periods, but yeah, you can use poly if you have holes.

So lid upside down should suffice?

Well I just bought a whole new case of half pint jars. I'd love to keep the lids in tact if its unnecessary to make holes for agar. If it is possible to just turn the lid upside down for enough GE might this significantly increase colonization time?
