I love all your responses. I made my decision to take a break and heal my mind. I will probably do a shroom trip or two in the next year. I always feel shrooms help me break my fear. Maybe my exodus from shrooms may have ruined my psychedelic balance.

Sounds like you know what to do sky
Im sure just give it time and more experiences like darkstar said and you will be able to return and see it in a different light.
A mushroom trip might help, even though its a similar feel its a different teacher and pathways you explore.
Maybe an MDMA experience and set your focus on accepting that part of you that is causing the loop.
What you describe reminds me of the shadow that Anne Shulgin refers too Shadow

(Edit: Is TheSkyHasFallen you? I just want to be sure i will message right person)
The article is a really good read. I get this quote and it hits the nail on the head "Putting it in Buddhist terms, he is being asked to confront the demons known as the guardians of the gate, and the prospect of seeing what he unconsciously believes to be the core - the essence - of himself as a series of horrendous, malignant, totally unacceptable entities, can bring about a state of fear that has no parallel in ordinary life."
This is what happens. I can't really "pinpoint" the trigger; but I do know its some sort of defensive mechanism for my subconscious to fend off the trip.

I've had a similar experience... three consecutive bad trips on mushrooms, then realized I should probably take a break. All of a sudden LSD comes along (it's really rare where I'm from), it's my first and possibly only chance to try it out, so obviously I do. BAM, the same loop, the same visuals, the works. First LSD-experience ended up being pretty horrible (although I did have a weird sense of lucidity throughout the whole experience, so mushrooms were obviously worse) and actually brought out the anxiety disorder that mushrooms seemed to have "cured" a couple of years earlier.
Three years later, and I'm still not completely unshaken, although a lot better each month. Funnily enough, it all ended up culminating in me quitting smoking... and once I finally did, synchronicities started popping up and the anxiety melted away. Now I feel like I could trip again without much fear of the same loop.
My ten cents, it'll eventually get better anyway. Just let time pass, tripping is way more fun when you have sober experience to back it up. Shouldn't build one's life on tripping.
