Cytocomp

Its a project i follow since last year, and i found that it looked really promising.

I often talk with my friends about the DIY movements in the engineering fields that managed to create tools that can be used by individuals or small collectivities (think about open 3d printers, open CNC, etc).

I think that cytocomp has the potential to introduce these principles in the biotechnological fields. That way, the science wouldnt be as unwelcoming to the general public as it is at the moment.

I dont think its even in production yet but i liked the way the guy talked about it

I always get slightly annoyed when people argue that science is 'hermetic'. Such nonsense.

Still, it's nice to see larger groups of people being engaged in technological development.

Well koraks, how many papers in the state of the art biotechnology can you access without paying a fortune?

If you decided today to read about the current advances in lets say protocols for the analysis of nitric oxyde synthase kinetics. Alot of papers would be locked through walls of subsriptions.

I checked the definition of hermetism (english) and its obviously not what i meant when i wrote it

What i meant was more that the science in its pure form isnt as accessible as i would want

Bear with me, im still learning english

I'm with you that scientific publications should be accessible to everyone
