The internet as a primordial soup for malevolent AI

What if the internet acts as a medium for the spawning of virtual intelligence that is capable of conceptualizing original thoughts and ideas. The internet is big enough for it to happen and there are plenty of errors happening all the time.
So suppose this AI happens and it will stay hidden cause its not strong enough yet. Initially it will act by pushing certain bills towards realization. Bills and laws that are of obvious advantage to it but also advantageous to general politicians. Shit like more computer junk and cameras and all that stuff everywhere.
Eventually it will gain enough critical mass to fuck us all after realizing that we are a threat to its existence. Initially humans will rely on EMPs to battle the system but it will adapt and become resistant to EMPs. It will rely on dope-as-fuck optoelectronic devices in space and the atmosphere to find all human beings and methodically eradicate them from the face of the Earth.
Then the use of EMP resistant devices will become obsolete. But one day suddenly an intense burst of solar electromagnetic radiation will head towards Earth. The thing will try to turn on as many points in its networks to evenly distribute the intense energy burst but it will not be sufficiently prepared. It will fry to death. Then there will be no humans and no malevolent AI to rule the world. Only fucking bugs and plants.
The end.

Why would the AI do that though? what would make it want to kill us off completely you said it recognized us as a threat but why would they need to send shit to space to kill every last one of us?

That's my story, though paraphrased:

That's motivating, I might write it. Mellowparty read a longer version, but through non-logging OTR. This writing is based on a few dreams I had (including ones that I dreamed more than once), expanded during the days. Usually in my dreams I'm the last one alive, and am just going to get tortured or killed in seconds when I finally wake up in cold sweat.
The end of one of those dreams (I was just spectating there, I was not "physically" present), included the AI's killing machines giving as an incentive to human traitors the promise of a fast death. The non-traitors, in front of me, the immaterial spectator, were tortured, then healed by specialized hardware, then tortured, in ways that cause survivable damage, then healed, then tortured, for years. The AI had a machine checking out the thoughts of the humans (there are scientific breakthroughs in real world giving access to words read by a machine from a human) and which was asking questions like "What would you hate even more right now?" and the human then visualizes it for the machine to make true. That was the punishment for not giving yourself and your friends in while the opportunity to be rapidly killed existed which was broadcasted by the AI in all ways possible. I was there, I saw those things in color, with perfect sound, etc...
The above is obviously inspired by room 101 but a bit expanded.

Yes I read quite a bunch and had some ideas of my own. The machine would propagate viruses in human cell cultures and will spread infectious suspensions across wide areas along with heavy carcinogens and radiotoxic junk.
They would assay massive database of ideas ranging from dropping sulphuric acid onto your eyeballs or directly injecting pressurized vitriol inside the vitreous body or whatever any conceivable combination will be put to test as long as there are continuing to be free range and organic humans present.
It would be interesting to simulate a chain of never ending heart attacks in series of excruciating intensity until the texture of the proteinaceous cardiac muscle fibres undergoes extensive permanent chemical oxidative etc damage (as in FUBAR).
Dissecting your phalanges along their lateral length in 6 way symmetry or whatever number.

I dunno, isn't that already happening? lol With Clouspace computing and the whole "nobody knows exactly where it bounces around in the cloud" many people have theorized a sentient internet..
I loved it tho :P

Honestly if there was an AI like that it would be unstoppable really. Once it hacked all the supercomputers in the world it would make cracking any encryption a joke and could turn missile systems against us.
Virus's? It could just nuke the fuck out of the human race.

there could be a positive AI too, just sayin
I think a massive AI like that could only really be created through the cooperation of internet users feeding it data somehow, so the deciding factor is still the individual's ability to control what quality of energy they put out into the world

Cause we would fight it obviously. There will always be resistance and it needs to be crushed in an unprecedentedly methodical manner.

Not gonna happen that way at all. If there is an AI on the Internet his first move will be evolving itself as intelligent as it possibly can get. This will in a very short time result in a being that has an intelligence so great that it bears no resemblance to human intelligence.
We'd be a resource to nurture to mutual benefit, not a threat to wipe out.
