ID Request
    #18802054 - 09/05/13 04:24 AM (10 years, 5 months ago)

Habitat:
Found on a council-supplied pile of bark chippings in East Yorkshire last week.

Gills:
As seen. I'm colour blind.

Stem:
Solid stem, fairly soft and smooth to the feel all over. Very dry.

Cap:
Approx 3-4" diameter on the flatter, more mature caps, smaller more conical caps on the less mature fellas.

Spore print color:
Not possible to do one as yet

Other information:
No discernible scent of any note.

Thanks.

Would you recommend it as an edible? Doesn't look like it would be esp flavourful?

Personally I've never eaten an Agrocybe so I can't say, but they're not commonly held as a choice edible.

Which species do you eat? I always like to try new species, especially those that are not commonly picked by everyone.
I just remembered that Agrocybe aegerita is an Agrocybe! So in fact I have eaten an Agrocybe species and it's great!

Info on other sites suggests they taste bitter and are not worth pursuing, but if you guys are 100% sure on the ID and enjoy eating some agrocybes I might give these a go just to see.
