lets say someone went out and got spores, sterilized rye berry seed bags with injection ports and made an incubation/fruiting chamber that stays at 90-95% humidity and good temp. is putting these together going to work or would there be something that would need to be added???

The only thing you need to add is a minimum of 20 hours worth of reading and searching the Shroomery message boards, and maybe you might understand this process a little better.

working on that, was kinda hoping for helpful hints. a lot of my reading so far has been people telling noobs to read or slamming them for not already knowing. thanks though

That's because literally all you have to do is read and you will understand the process.
This guy literally made one post in the cultivation forums before he posted fantastic results.  It isn't hard.  Nobody is slamming you.  You just need to put in a little legwork.  Walking people through this stuff over and over because they get the idea to grow mushrooms, just to have them give nothing back to the community gets extremely old after awhile.

200 hours if you want to be good at it   The info is kind of scattered around, it's hard to put it all together nicely.  I'd start with RRs videos.  Have you heard of those?

http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/17897163#17897163

This is probably the most comprehensive list of procedures compiled by our own in-house guru FrankHorrigan.  Great spreads of photos and clear wording should help understanding procedures, not just how to do things, but WHY they are done the way shown.  These posts are what most new users would call "advanced", but again it is hands down some of the best info in one place.  Frank's focus is on grain to bulk.

I started my education with pre-sterilized spawn bags. It was more costly than buying grains myself and sterilizing them, but at the time I had no pressure cooker.

Read every post.  Most have something to learn from, including mistakes that some of make and show off.  Its better IMHO to learn from others mistakes, versus doing them yourself.

I haven't heard of rr videos. I am trying to put this all together, but I spent the money the bags before doing any real homework. I watched a video on youtube where a guy stuck a needle in a bag magically it grew mushrooms w/out ever coming out of the bag. I bought 2 bags then started reading and don't think its quite that simple now I'm trying to figure out if can still use the rye berry seeds I paid for. I've read PF tek and know I can make that work, but can't figure out if the rye berry seeds are a waste. Sorry, I do understand the frustration.

Most certainly not.  The grain could easily be "Spawned to bulk".  Bulk substrates can include but are not limited to:

Straw
Horse poo
Coconut Coir
Vermiculite

Lots of us find that a mix of coco-coir and vermiculite is the most "forgiving", and at times the easiest to obtain.

If you have grain bags, the best thing to do is to inoculate with the mushroom spores or culture and allow it to colonize.  After it has colonized the bag totally, you can mix it with your bulk substrates.

Start with pf tek then move to grains.  If you want to start easy and cheap buy  brown rice and grind it yourself and use 1/2 pint ziplock food storage containers vermiculite can be tricky to find at times but I bought mine sold as insulation 100% horticulture safe and $10 cheaper than the garden center stuff and the best advice I can absolutely give is buy spores from a sponsor!

try this: www.mushroomvideos.com, this series is a good place to start.  Buy the downloadable videos for $8.  One thing he leaves out of the videos is the coffee soak with the grain prep.  He did that to make it "easier" for noobs, but it's kind of important imo.  Search for coffee water or coffee soak.

Your goals kind of determine what you should be doing, small amount, large amount, personal use, limited space, limited funds?

You'll want a still air box with long gloves to do your innculations and g2g, you should learn how to make one.  It's not covered in the videos.  Don't underestimate the importance of a good isolate, some mycelium give you little or no fruit, you can waste a lot of time expanding worthless genetics.  Isolating is covered in the videos.

good luck.

Thanks again, I appreciate a point in the right direction, I'm really trying to find the best way to use these rye grain bags, I have them may as well use them. The past day all my free time has been committed to reading the links that you lead me to. I want to try some the teks that seem to be reasonably easy and have done well for others, but as I said first things first trying not to waste my previous investment. I feel like bulk tek will work but can't find an easy to follow step by step, also I feel like after 10+ hours of reading I'm not half way there. + side received syringes today

So, going to use pf tek. But I was wondering if theres a better recipe than the original? Every other tek ive seen really seems to use a diverse mixture for the sub. I really would like to get fruits that will motivate me to keep trying. Brf and verm seems to simple,  I saw a post on another forum where someone added worm castings, but I don't know how it turned out. Going grocery shopping later today just want to make sure my list is complete. If anyone can point toward abetter version of the pf tek Id greatly appreciate it. Thanks all. :-)

It's not too simple. There's lots of food for the mushies in BRF.

Wanna go big? Do bulk.

Fixed that for you. Don't be that guy... please. It'll save us all from having to answer a bunch of other questions later. There's a reason why the PF tek hasn't changed since it was first created. It works and it works well. Don't try to reinvent the wheel for your first grow. Save the experiments for after you get the basics down.
