Habitat: Again, like my previous posts for the giant Neolentinus ponderosus. All the following mushroom were found near Kings Canyon National Park area. These area is about 5000-7000 feet altitude.
I carefully record the detailed pictures here:
Fig. A1- From dead log (Pine?) I think it looks like Fomitopsis pinicola (please confirm).
Fig. A2 - More close look for Fig. A1
Fig. A3 - Another Fomitopsis pinicola(please confirm) just located beside former dead log in Fig. A1&2.
Fig. A4 - close look for Fig. A3 Fomitopsis pinicola??
Fig. A5 - close look after I took home from Fig. A3&4
Fig. B1 - Interesting thing is that I got a big Ganoderma applanatum (please confirm) just about 50 feet away from another dead log.
Fig. B2 - back view for the Ganoderma applanatum (please confirm)
Fig. C1 - I do not know what is this (Russula? )
Fig. C2 - close look from Fig. C1
 Fig. C3 - close look
Fig. C4 - another close look from Fig C1 &2
So my guess:
A: Fomitopsis pinicola ?
B: Ganoderma applanatum -- pretty sure, but is Ganoderma growth in high altitude more than 5000 feet?
C: I really not sure -- help me identify ID
Thanks

Yeh, I think those first ones are F. pinicola, "red belted". But it gets tough to id when the red is more than a belt or absent.
That G. applanatum looks way gone. I wouldn't use it, if that's what you were planning. Make a nice garden ornament. ;-)
Could that be spores on the top of the G. applanatum? Does it wipe off? Previously when I've collected them (or what I now think is them, when I gathered I thought they were tinder fungus), they were quite thick and ridged. I just picked up another that looks a lot like yours, thin, and the caps and ivy on the downed log were covered with the same color dusty stuff. Thought it was just dust from trail construction, but someone here said that the polypores actually have some sort of ability to draft their spores up on top. Fascinating.

Your Russula looks like R. brevipes

Thanks mahniti, fry day and Ganzig.
By the way, the Ganoderma applanatum I collected is from about 7000 feet altitude. I guess the backside is little bit different with the one fry day posted. (also I let the mushroom dried in my balcony for two day). It was fresh when I collect it, but when I cut this mushroom, my hand make them dirty.

They bruise easily on the pore side. That's why they're called artist conk, when they're fresh you can sketch on 'em. It's an old art form. If you enter artist conk into a search engine you'll get some pics...
