They look like a species of Cortinarius to me.

Did you make a spore print? Is there a photo of the gills? CAn you give more information?

If they are white spored they are probably a Lepiota or Leucoagaricus species.

TY TimmiT:) heres the gills

I found them in ne ohio in mixed forest near an old creek run off and behing the bases of dead trees where water gathers.

I threw them out and cant quite remember the spore print color. sorry. I know it would help. I have pics of them after they dried and can hardly tell them from others. I just think it looks so cool :wink:

Make a sporeprint then they're easier to identify

Place a cap on alufoil, put a tupperware plasticbox/cup over it or such
let sit for a day...

I looked through my photos I believe the print was dark brown. secondly Id say it was myco. pink or black :wink:
