North east I.D. request.
    #18799584 - 09/04/13 02:56 PM (10 years, 4 months ago)

Habitat: Growing on the forest floor, in wood debris and around the sides of a few rocks.

Gills: Run down the stem, a yellowish orange color.

Stem: They seem to be solid, a little more yellow than the gills or cap.

Cap: More orange than the rest of the mushroom. Pretty thin.

Spore print color: Haven't printed yet.

Bruising: No color change was observed.

Location: CT

They look like eastern chanterelles. What do they smell like?

Don't take my word for it, but they might be chanterelles!

They smell pretty good, not like any other mushroom I've picked.  A little sweet, almost fruity.

Wow that would be so nice.  Found a few last year but never got a chance to cook them up.  You think they are good to eat?

Fucking awesome   The only lookalikes I read about were jack o lanterns and they don't really look like them.  Can't wait to cook some up, off to find a recipe. :bigblunt:

Well I pan fried some in butter and minimal spices.  I thought they were delicious, my wife thought they were disgusting.  I'm a little sketched out, first time eating a mushroom I found.  I'm sure it's all good though, I knew what it was as soon as I saw them.  Had to get confirmation here before I ate them though.  Thanks guys for the input.
