Increased attention on shrooms?

So I`ve been reading about psilocybin effects on people who take it and I`ve noticed that people tend to say how they notice details about things they maybe didn`t notice while sober.
This brings me to my question, could psilocybin mushrooms benefit attention in the sense of improving your ability to uncover new things like within science, you draw new connections because of your change in perception and because of your new way of seeing stuff and the strange new details you are noticing?
It makes kinda sense to me, of course if you don`t take an very big dose, but a balanced one.

I think it is true. I have often noticed details of ideas/concepts while tripping. Shrooms do interesting things to your thought processes, sometimes for the worst but often times for the best.
Don't take mushrooms at work or school!

It's always worked for me.

Yeah, it works for me. One of my favorite things to do while tripping is think about philosophy and science. Sometimes I won't even be thinking of them but ill just have some epiphany about them. It's pretty awesome. Although your focus or attention can be hard to direct while on psychedelics. With practice it is possible to direct your energy and mind to focus on something ad use the psychedelics properly. I use them this way occasionally.

When I trip my thoughts are on everything but science, to be honest, I am an engineering student, I haven't had the impulse to think about differential equations on my trips.
But I definitely want to try all those things people recommend to do, such as drawing. I might even try to solve some tasks etc, just see how the brain works trying to reason, while affected.
I find I just end up looking up at the sky, the sun and the trees, and that's enough to enrapture me!
I know you guys are super experience with this compared to me, but I just rememberd on my last trip, coming down, I kept yoyo-ing between thoughts about the universe, and then being dragged back to reality thinking about practical things, then back to the universe, and it was just chaos
Wonder if it's like that for you too? Go from big thoughts to small thoughts (practical thoughts) back and forth...

Awesome! No I did not plan on taking it in school or on the job.
Don`t know what to say though, but I got to hear some opinions, that`s what I was looking for

certainly more observant and insightful after using mushrooms, the effect seems to last even after the trip is finished.

Definitively! Look up James Fadiman’s work. He worked together with scientist. They used lsd and mescaline, but I do not see why you should not get similar effects from mushrooms. With my limited experience, it worked very well.
Here is one of my older answers from other thread http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/18319574#18319574.

I remember a couple times ago after taking a few grams, I noticed that the thread links on the shroomery light up and fade away really smoothly if you hover the mouse over them quickly. Never noticed it before
I believe in a certain context mushrooms could be great for enhancing focus and movement/pattern recognition.
Terence McKenna believed that when mushrooms were first being eaten by the early primitive humans, they were used to give a visual edge to enhance their hunting abilities.

Yeah^^ That's part of the stoned ape theory. The primate's ate little nibbles (basically microdosing) and would have better vision (better hunting) and could feel pleasure so they started having sex, thus the ones who ate the mushrooms passed on their genes. Eventually the primate's ate enough to trip, and after a couple hundred times, they started developing art, religion, and language at about the same time.
It's all theory though.

Yup, that's the one. It's all in Food of the Gods. All theory, but it's definitely interesting to think about!

Amazing they exhibited such restraint. Having ate 3 g fresh of PE yesterday I would fucking go back to the shroom patch and chow down if I was living in the distant past.
I'd pick them and dry them in the sun and give them to all my buds. We'd trade them for all kinds of useful shit.

I have noticed a nice lift on shrooms that aids my powers of concentration. We are talking one or two grams pulverized and fed into a cup of tea.
