Your cooking skillz while tripping

When I had just started with psychedelics, I used to think you not only needed to be well hydrated but also well fed during your trip.
So this one trip I was making pasta and suddenly had a brilliant flash of enlightenment given by God himself. He said, Son, Thou must defy physics! Thus I threw a chocolate icecream into the pasta, watched it melt than ate it...
... It had nuts too
What are your cooking sk1llz like while tripping?

THat sounds amazing! Was the pasta good?
I once made a fruit salad, and then poured chili/lime powder all over it and felt like I had been transported to an aztec feast.

It was surprisingly edible! Similar to you I was also transported to another world, though not aztec but something from The Lord Of The Rings where the hobbits would be eating in their shire, it was the most peculiar dinner I had ever eaten!

That sounds so fun! I wonder if these food experiences are common among trippers?

i try to stay away from cooking anything or using kitchen appliances while tripping because once i went to make toast and i forgot it was in the toaster and the next thing i know i smell that burning toast smell.
i was terrified i was about to burn my house down.

@VivaLaMushie Yes time is such a bitch while cooking, I always put on a timer to make sure I don't forget cause I've had similar stuff happen to me. Instant noodles work pretty good though, even if you forget you can only end up with cold noodles which isn't as bad as burning the whole place down.
@GreyMorph I must say I like to experiment a helluva lot more during trips. It makes for some interesting new recipes. Well there's a first for everything as they say

Yeah, I don't think I would ever try using my stove or oven, or even blender while tripping. But making a simple, flavorful dish can be a fun tripping treat!

I usually just stock up on fruit and ready to eat shit so if I do feel the urge to eat, I just open the fridge and grab it.

I once had sober people around to watch after us trippers. It was my first high dose of mushies (4g dry). I didn't understand anything anymore but the sober mates demanded my attention because they were hungry and couldn't figure out how my oven worked. I somehow managed to explain but next thing you know there is smoke everywhere. The SOBER fucks somehow forgot to remove the piece of cardboard that was under the pizza... idiots. I probably would have done better myself

Good thing you stayed calm when that happened. I would've been freaking out like hell
Did anyone notice how different substances let you experience food in different ways? On shrooms, food tastes very nice, especially fruit and yoghurt! But on nbome everything is plain weird... I'll never forget the horror of ripping the spine from a prawn, I felt like a torturer!

I went to a crawfish restaurant in Oakland one day, while sober, ordered 2 Lbs. of shrip with my friends.
Half way through I realized I had just been ripping the heads and legs of of carcasses, and sucking out the meat and brain inside. It was horrible.

I also like trying new things while tripping but cooking isn't something I'm too interested in and have never shown any sort of skill or even a smidgen of interest in it. Wish I could bring myself to enjoy it but nah, I'll need a woman that likes to cook, some day.
Oh and that shrimp story sounds delicious in a barbaric sense. Sometimes being a "refined human beings of a higher mind" is just some sort of cop out for weakness. Men of higher minds must not mind killing for food and devouring flesh! Nom nom!!!

Don't get me wrong. I finished, and it was good. I realize that animals usually must be killed to make my food.
It made me feel like a wild fisherman, or maybe a savage hero warrior.
Looking back though, it was horrible. But I had a good time. But it was horrible.

I understand that. I like to do the soulful mourning then I devour meat like some savage bloody war god. It feels primal if you make the kill yourself too. It's more better too, to gut and clean is its own monstrous display of brutality and power yet spiritual at the same time if you have those kinds of thoughts in your head as I do. The empathy, I mean, to treat an animal with the same feeling and respect as you would a deceased human.

I like how you think! Yes, it is a spiritual thing to hunt for your own food. I take my compound bow out once and awhile and have enjoyed the fruits of laying in the hot desert for six hours waiting for an animal to walk by.
All in all I think tripping can be a form of time and space travel, inside your own head of course, and food can be as well. Pretty much any form of expression or physical or mental experience can do that though.

There was no calm or freaked out. I was so overwhelmed that I couldn't really respond to what was happening. I do remember trying to explain that the cardboard wasn't meant to stay under the pizza but I probably blurted out gibberish.
From this experience on I have been more careful in the selection of trip sitters. Not people that don't understand, have never done psychedelics themselves and think it's a good idea to bother you about your oven when you're tripping balls.

Haha this thread is funny. I'm a pretty awesome cook sober if I say so myself, but I have 0 interest in it while tripping. I usually cook a full meal ahead of time and have snacks ready to go. Too much thinking otherwise.
