Hello,

I'll be in Providence, Rhode Island for a few months. Does anybody know of any trails, parks, hiking spots, camping spots, etc around here?

although a small state we have over 50,000 acres of state management areas plus thouasands of acres of usuable forest all across the state, i being in the farthest corner of the state am only 30 minutes from providence. there are three management areas and several other smaller public use propertys in my town that combines to over ten thousand acres of forest. another good big spot is arcadia management area, fourteen thouasand acres with the beautiful wood river and flowing through, although there is almost a guarentee of loads of people being there.

i dont know how long your staying but if you do end up in the northeast corner of the state let me know, and i could point you in the direction of some really cool trails. i do beleive all of the orange spots around providence is actually only for a deer season hunting lottery because its providences water resovouir  and if they catch you there they may fine you.
