Any reason not to file a police report?
    #18797257 - 09/03/13 11:30 PM (10 years, 4 months ago)

The other day I left my keys in my door and didn't think back to it until just before I went to bed. They weren't there. I didn't jump to any conclusions and assumed I must have misplaced them. Well yesterday I noticed that my bag of phenibut, as well as my capsule machine was missing, I know this was my next door neighbor whom I share a kitchen with, as he knows I am dependent on phenibut and hates my guts.

I know nothing will come from filing a police report, but it is something I would like to have a record of happening (for reasons I won't go into).

Is there any reason NOT to file a police report? Phenibut is legal and I have nothing to hide as far as illegal activities or drugs in my apartment.

btw he only got half of it, stupid ass fuck

I would if I was you. Like you said the phenibut is legal so you have nothing to worry about. Its a dietary supplement. From personal experience I can tell you if you have a thieving neighbor, it is best to nip it in the bud before it becomes a serious issue. The fact that you share a space could factor into your decision though. I would play it safe and file a report just to put it on record. You never know what he may do next...

What can I expect when filing a police report? Do I just go to the police station, fill out the paperwork, and get a copy and that's that?

Do I mention the neighbor at all considering I have no evidence?

I have never had to do it. I settled my problem the wrong way which I would not recommend.  I believe it is a standarx procedure though. I don't know where you live but where I live they don't require physical evidence so long as you have reasonable suspicion. Just be careful what you allege because you don't want to file a false report which is itself a crime in certain circumstances (don't worry though, unless you are knowingly falsifying a police report you have nothing to worry about). I would just call your local sheriff or police department and explain the issue. They should put you in contact witb an officer who will help you from there. Remember that you are a taxpaying citizen and the sytem works for you. If you feel you have been wronged or victimized no matter how seemingly insignificant, you have a right to justice. I hope I helped I'm no lawyer just someone who has had experience with a junkie neighbor who steals.

I should also point out that if it waz stolen from your home it will be taken very seriously. In my state when a person enter someones place of habitation with the INTENT to steal, even if they do not take anything it is considered burglary of a habitation which is a Felony offense.

I don't like calling the cops, but I dislike thieves even more so if I was you I'd call.

It'd be a good thing to make a report about especially just in case it happens again then its already on paper that you think it was your neighbor.

(1) Buy something valuable and place it in an area where he can see it
(2) Wait in the shadows until he comes to take it.
(3) Once he takes it, emerge from the shadows like fucking batman n shit.
(4) Blow him away.
