everyone forgets and it'll happen again, I don't seriously want to bomb these people, but you can't use chemical weapons on people because we say so. It's not like I can change anything, I just think Assad is an idiot, he could fight his war and win without this crap.

Its all the same, whats the difference between getting eviscerated with an assault rifle or getting your CNS shut down chemically? Its just a matter of perception, and an excuse for Obama to draw a line where he has no right to draw one.

you don't know about nerve gas then. Nerve gas kills everything and doesn't discriminate. You can aim a bomb, you can aim a gun, but a gas cloud is something that kills a whole city. babys womens puppies, that's why it's not allowed. Causes birth defects in subsequent generations, gets carried by the wind back to your own house.
chemical weapons are banned for a reason

What about the UN finding that the rebals used them first.
We didnt bomb them we gave them weapons and sent trainers.
Ex solider accused of fight for al Qaeda.
Only reason this guy got shit is cause he put it on youtube.
Not to mention C.I.A. Said to Aid in Steering Arms to Syrian Opposition
We are already there. And fighting on the wrong side

They're all wrong sides
There is a rational element to the opposition - but rationality doesn't hold ground for shit in the face of extreme islamic insanity

nope, dead is not dead.
you can have a war, but we cannot let you kill your countries entire population over a minor dispute. it's a wmd, like a nuke. we don't use those either.

But we use fuel-air bombs that can obliterate 40 city blocks.... but that's not an WMD yeah? Just good ol' conventional mayhem.

I know that statistically nerve gas and other chemical agents have a lower civilian causality rate then any other weapon out there. They also discriminate about as well as most bombs and ordnance. And DU munitions cause the exact same pattern of congenital defects and long term danger as any other chemical weapon out there, yet they're employed extensively. Murder is murder, when your goal is to snuff lives out there is no morally correct way to do it.

That's not I heard in Hiroshima.
I guess our gigantic nuclear arsenal is a testament to our wonderful ethics in warfare.

No, they're supposed to debate on it all week. One thing that really irked me was that Obama said he may still attack Syria, even if congress decides against it, and he believes that this is within his authority and is okay. This nigger actually believes it is within his authority to ignore the will of the people, and send us to war. Rand Paul is vehemently opposing him, of course. Rand Paul, the peoples champion. Remember that when election time rolls around.
The truth of the matter is that congress is mostly supporting the idea of action against Syria, and it is probably going to happen. They are talking about using airstrikes to destroy chemical weapons sites, limit the ability of Syrias military to carry out farther attacks, etc. They have repeatedly stressed, "no boots on the ground". The issue that they debated most today was mainly whether this could be done without drawing us into an all out war in Syria. I didn't get to watch all day, but I probably caught a total of two hours worth of the session. I will be following more closely tomorrow, since I don't have work. I'll be sure to keep this thread updated with actual news. It's been de-railed pretty hard.

If I recall correctly America is sitting on oil stores large enough to last it 40 years or more. Sucking other countries dry is, historically, going to be its most strategic move ever.
