Well...looks like I've got me some lice. The woman, too.
We've both never had em before. What the shit do we do?

I dont know what methods they use today but I remember way back in the day I had a cousin who got lice and the special shampoos and shit didnt work so my aunt resorted to getting a shit ton of vaseline and completely covering her head with it for like 6 hours to suffocate the lice. It worked like a charm but the cleanup suuuuuuuuuuucks!

Shaving heads, lice treatments multiple times, bagging up all clothes and washing them all, bug bombing the house.
They are awful I got them a lot as a kid.

I wouldnt bother with those shampoos anymore, little fuckers have developed a resistance to them. There are these electrified combs a lot of people use. Kills em dead, just gotta be thorough.

Hit the pool ( a Jacuzzi would be better, set at 110) with a snorkle, OP.
Hang underwater for 20 minutes and drown them all. Comb out, remove some eggs, and dunk yourself back in.

Tea tree oil.
Shampoo and use on your body. Mixed diluted with spray bottle to spray the place down everyday. You might smell like hippies, but it's the best natural and cheapest way to get rid of lice

This, seriously.
This is the method I used to get the nasty fuckers out of my reasonably long dreads with one wash. Fill a bucket or something you can dunk your head in with 3 parts water to 2 parts white vinegar (use cleaning vinegar, it's the perfect strength and it's like $1.50 a litre) then add around a teaspoon of tea tree and/or eucalyptus oil and mix it up really well. You and your missus should both then soak your whole head for 5 or so minutes, then cover your heads with shower caps to keep the fumes in and leave them on while you go around the house washing your clothes and bedding, and vacuuming your couches and carpet etc. Then just wash your hair like normal, and put conditioner in and comb your hair with a nit comb if you feel like. Repeat the process after 7 days just to be sure you've got them all, although you most likely have.
Tea tree oil kills the lice fairly easily but it's not as effective against the nits (eggs) which is what the vinegar is for. It leeches the calcium from the outer shell of the egg which leaves the shell permeable and porous, allowing the tea tree oil to soak in much better.

Get a very fine toothed comb made for lice and comb a couple times a day for at least two weeks.
