A good Problem; Jars multiplying too fast to keep up..

I started out with about 10 1 pint grain jars. I took two of them and made twenty.. Now those twenty are fully colonized and I cannot afford 200 jars. I plan on using some for bulk substrate but I still have way too many grain jars. My question is how long does a Grain Jar last once its fully colonized? I have read between 2-3 weeks.. Is that accurate? Anyone know the answer? Thanks...

Any jars that you want to do g2g with but you're not going to use right away, put them in the fridge immediately once they reach full colonization. Otherwise they will consolidate and lose effectiveness for g2g. They will be hard to break up and won't colonize the new jars well and they will contaminate easier. If you're just going to spawn them to bulk though, it's okay to leave them out for a few weeks. But trust me, if you want to use those extra jars for g2g in the future, put them in the fridge AS SOON AS they reach 100% colonization.

why not G2G into spawn bags? then you will have enough spawn for 20 tubs.
pc 4-5 qt of hydrated grains and when cooled, add 1 pint of spawn.

I do plan on spawning a bunch but just the fact that one jar can turn into 10 has me a little worried about how to keep up with how fast they are multiplying. Thanks for the fridge tip.. If I want to use them after they have been in the fridge do I let them go to room temp for a day before adding them to spawn?

How do you go about dunking grain? I can never get it out of the jar without breaking it up or spooning it out. How would you possibly successfully dunk a grain jar?
