Berlin Aquarium Mushrooms
    #18794861 - 09/03/13 03:33 PM (10 years, 4 months ago)

So I went to the Berlin Zoo/Aquarium and was checking out these guys...
...and found THESE guys all over the enclosures!
I tried to get more pictures but when my wife realized what I was doing there was a lot of  going on.

I was surprised to see these fungi in the aquarium, but it got me to thinking...a small aquarium would be a pretty good discreet fruiting chamber.  Nice and climate controlled and it would be a great excuse to get humidifiers and lighting...just a thought.

Very cool! I love the frog pictures. How come your wife thinks it's not cool to take pictures of mushrooms?

I'm guessing these are a Gymnopus sp. and the others ones look like a Conocybe sp maybe.
vivarium ≠ Aquarium not the be a grammar nazi.

Maybe Lepiota and Marasmius.

If my wife yelled at me for photographing mushrooms I would kick her to the curb, but I am single so you should absolutely not take my advice.

Thanks!  She was just ready to move on but was waiting because she thought I was taking more pictures of the frogs...then she saw what I was doing and decided to regulate.

Lol, noted.  But she wasn't yelling, just a forehead slap (her own, not mine)and the declaration that we were going to look at the alligator exhibit now.

Haha, I feel like I have to defend her because she actually just bought me a field guide and usually totally supports my various infatuations.

I think maynard is right about the smaller ones being Conocybe,I agree.
If you zoom in you can see dark colored gills, def.not white...
The bigger three look like Mycena imo.
