I was wondering if it was possible to slice a couple of chunks off a pf cake ( witch I did) and put them in agar ( witch I did ) and grow mycelium on agar ( it worked ) but what I am unsure of is can I cut chunks of the agar and put it in popcorn tek. I have done all of the above but I don't know if it will colonize the new substraight and will it even produce any flushes.

Yes you can. I would transfer the myc to a new agar plate at least once to make sure there are no contams.

Crap a should have done that oops. What I did transfer looked pretty healthy and white with no discoloration. I just didnt know if it would actually produce. Also Now that I have done that Have I now have a single inoculation of a genome.

I wanted to use rye. I went to all my health food stores and none had any. Popcorn was what was left. I know it sucks but its all I had

Why does this sequence seems like it follows 2 girls 1 cup? It goes from ok, to great, to omg that's shit. Use bird seed, heads and tails better.

I'm very sarcastic. Don't take it as a knock against you. We've all experimented before. Popcorn was the first grain I tried, you are going to get a lot of people chiming in that popcorn is the best. But, there are not as many inoculation points as birdseed, you run the risk of more burst grains turning your jar into a brick due to the starch content. Mycelium does not digest some starches as easily as others, popcorn is one of the starches that it has problems with. Mycelium also only colonizes over the husk of the popcorn due to not being able to digest the outer layer so it appears to colonize quicker, when in fact it is opening you up to contams.

Well thanks for your input guys/gals. It is working pretty well and hopefully no contams at least not yet.
